Doch diesmal wird nicht Schauspielerin Riley Keough als Christine Reade im Fokus der Handlung stehen, sondern die zweite Staffel erz\u00c3\u00a4hlt, wie die Macher schon vorab verraten haben, eine komplett neu Handlung mit neuen Charakteren. Mit einer Episode mehr und somit 14 Folgen wird die zweite Staffel von The Girlfriend Experience durch zwei parallel verlaufende Handlungsstr\u00c3\u00a4ngen zum einen in Washington D.C. und zum anderen in New Mexiko erz\u00c3\u00a4hlt. Die Autoren Amy Seimetz und Lodge Kerrigan werden dabei je f\u00c3\u00bcr einen Handlungsstrang verantwortlich sein. F\u00c3\u00bcr die zweite Staffel stehen in den Hauptrollen Anne Friel, Caren Ejogo und Louisa Krause vor der Kamera. Friel wird dabei in der Washington Story die lesbische Finanzdirektorin eines republikanischen Political Action Commitees (PAC), die mit einer Prostituierten in Ber\u00c3\u00bchrung kommt, welche von Krause verk\u00c3\u00b6rpert wird, spielen. Der zweite Handlungsstrang wird sich um das Callgirl Bria Jones, gespielt von Ejogo, drehen, welche vor einem gef\u00c3\u00a4hrlichen Klienten nach New Mexiko flieht. Doch muss sie bald feststellen, dass sie nicht so leicht vor ihrem riskanten Leben, welches sie aufgebaut hat, entkommen kann. Die Serie The Girlfriend Experience ist eine Adaption des gleichnamigen Films aus dem Jahre 2009 von Steven Soderbergh. Wie Seimetz und Kerrigan ist Soderbergh gemeinsam mit Philip Fleishman als ausf\u00c3\u00bchrender Produzent bei der Serie mit beteiligt. In Deutschland kann die erste Staffel \u00c3\u00bcber Amazon Prime Video komplett angeschaut werden. Auch die zweite Staffel wird voraussichtlich bei Amazon Prime Video landen. Wer die erste Staffel der Serie noch nicht gesehen hat, kann sich \u00c3\u00bcber den Trailer zu Staffel 1 einen ersten Eindruck von The Girlfriend Experience machen.
