M\u00c3\u00a4rz dieses Jahres war es endlich soweit: Die kanadische Horror-Anthologie Slasher von Aaron Martin ist auf Netflix per Streaming verf\u00c3\u00bcgbar. Sie ist die erste Eigenproduktion des US-TV-Senders Chiller in Zusammenarbeit des kanadischen TV-Senders Super Channel, wo die Serie am 1. April 2016 ihre Premiere im kanadischen Fernsehen feierte. Gedreht wurde die erste Staffel bereits von Juli bis Oktober 2015 in Greater Sudbury, Parry Sound und Sault Ste. Marie in Ontario, Kanada. Die Story spielt demnach in einem kleinen fiktiven \u00c3\u2013rtchen namens Waterbury. Doch die Dreharbeiten liegen erst einmal still. Eine weitere Staffel wurde bislang noch nicht best\u00c3\u00a4tigt. F\u00c3\u00bcr die Fans der kanadischen Horrorserie sieht es eher schlecht aus. Informationen zur Folge hat der Mutterkonzern von Super Channel, Allarco, mit der Insolvenz zu k\u00c3\u00a4mpfen. Ob die Serie von einem anderen Kanal produziert wird ist bislang unklar. In Slasher dreht sich alles um die K\u00c3\u00bcnstlerin Sarah Bennet (Katie McGrath), die gemeinsam mit ihrem Mann Dylan (Brandon Jay McLaren) zur\u00c3\u00bcck nach Waterbury in das Haus ihrer Eltern zieht. Diese wurden vor Jahren an Halloween auf grausame Art und Weise umgebracht. Ihr M\u00c3\u00b6rder Tom Winston (Patrick Garrow) sitzt seitdem in Haft. Kurze Zeit nach ihrem Einzug in das Elternhaus beginnt in Waterbury eine Mordserie, dessen Morde die grausame T\u00c3\u00b6tung Sarahs Eltern nachahmen. Um den M\u00c3\u00b6rder ausfindig zu machen, springt Sarah \u00c3\u00bcber ihren Schatten und besucht den M\u00c3\u00b6rder ihrer Eltern um herauszufinden, wie der M\u00c3\u00b6rder denkt und warum er die Menschen in dem kleinen St\u00c3\u00a4dtchen seit ihrer Wiederkehr umbringt. Dabei macht die junge Frau eine schockierende Entdeckung. Neben Katie McGrath und Brandon Jay McLaren treten Dean McDermott, Steve Byers und Wendy Crewson in weiteren Hauptrollen der Serie auf. Slasher wurde bereits 5 Mal f\u00c3\u00bcr die 5th Annual Canadian Screen Awards 2017 nominiert, die am 12. M\u00c3\u00a4rz stattfinden. Nominiert wurde die Serie von Aaron Martin unter anderem in den Kategorien Best TV Movie or Limited Series und Best Writing in a Dramatic Program or Limited Series.
