Leider m\u00c3\u00bcssen wir die Fans von Falling Skies entt\u00c3\u00a4uschen, denn eine weitere Staffel der Serie ist nicht geplant. Staffel 5 wird das Finale einer langen und beliebten Serie sein, die von Robert Rodat erschaffen und von DreamWorks Television produziert wurde. Doch eine Gruppe \u00c3\u0153berlebende nimmt den Kampf gegen die Eindringlinge auf. Ihr Anf\u00c3\u00bchrer ist Thomas \u00e2\u20ac\u017eTom\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 Mason (Noah Wyle), ein Milit\u00c3\u00a4rhistoriker und Vize-Befehlshaber der Widerstandszelle \u00e2\u20ac\u017eDie zweite Massachusetts\u00e2\u20ac\u0153. Doch schon bald kommt es auch in ihrer Gruppe zu Streitereien untereinander und Pope (Colin Cunningham) verl\u00c3\u00a4sst mit einigen die Zelle. Als Ben (Connor Jessup) jedoch einen Plan der Overlords, so nennen die Menschen eine Gruppe der Eindringlinge, entdeckt, m\u00c3\u00bcssen alle wieder an einem Strang ziehen, In Washington D.C. ist die Zentrale der Aliens und ein h\u00c3\u00b6heres Wesen, eine Art Alienk\u00c3\u00b6nigin, scheint dort zu sein. Gemeinsam machen sie sich auf den Weg nach Washington. Werden sie den Kampf endlich beenden? Falling Skies wurde bislang in insgesamt 75 verschiedenen L\u00c3\u00a4ndern ausgestrahlt und erh\u00c3\u00a4lt vor allem von Seiten der Kritiker viel Lob. Bei Metacritic bekam die Serie einen Metascore von 71 von 100. Schade, dass die Sci-Fi-Serie nach f\u00c3\u00bcnf Staffeln ihr Ende fand. Doch Netflix hat sicher schon eine neue Serie auf Lager.
