Einmal 1963, schon 4 Jahre nach seinem Erscheinen und einmal im Jahr 1999. Beide Male lautete der Titel \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The Haunting\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. Die erste Verfilmung war sehr nahe am Buch und auch sehr erfolgreich, die Verfilmung von 1999 blieb extrem hinter den Erwartungen zur\u00c3\u00bcck und kam nur m\u00c3\u00a4\u00c3\u0178ig beim Publikum an. Der Streamingdienst Netflix hat nun die Literaturvorlage neu entdeckt und eine Serienadaption mit dem Namen \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The Haunting of Hill House&#8221; in Auftrag gegeben. In der in Auftrag gegebenen Serie zum Geisterhorror-Klassiker soll die Geschichte nah am Buch, aber modern erz\u00c3\u00a4hlt werden. Daf\u00c3\u00bcr eignet sich der Filmemacher Mike Flanagan, der unter anderem Before I Wake, Hush oder Oculus auf die Bildschirme brachte, sicherlich hervorragend. Er hat reichlich Erfahrung auf dem Gebiet des Horrors und der Geister. Die Produktion liegt bei Paramount TV, die schon mehrfach mit Netflix zusammengearbeitet haben. Au\u00c3\u0178erdem ist eine zweite Produktionsfirma, Amblin TV, mit an Bord, die eng mit dem Namen Steven Spielberg verkn\u00c3\u00bcpft ist. Zehn Folgen sind bisher in Auftrag gegeben worden. The Haunting of Hill House ist ein spannend geschriebener Spukhausroman aus dem Jahre 1959 aus der Feder von Shirley Jackson, der weniger eine Horrorgeschichte als mehr ein ausgekl\u00c3\u00bcgelter Psychothriller ist. In der Geschichte geht es um den Anthropologen Dr. Montague, der in einem angeblichen Spukhaus ein Experiment durchf\u00c3\u00bchren m\u00c3\u00b6chte. Drei Teilnehmer hat er daf\u00c3\u00bcr ausgew\u00c3\u00a4hlt. Zum einen Theodora, die leichte telepathische F\u00c3\u00a4higkeiten hat, zum anderen Eleanor, die keine besondere F\u00c3\u00a4higkeit hat, sieht man von ihrer Sch\u00c3\u00bcchternheit einmal ab. Und zu guter Letzt w\u00c3\u00a4re da noch der Erbe des omin\u00c3\u00b6sen Hauses: Luke.
