Der neue Film k\u00c3\u00b6nnte einer der meist erwarteten Filme des Jahrhunderts werden. Nachdem die Filmproduktionsgesellschaft Paramount Pictures aus dem Filmprojekt ausgestiegen ist, begann Netflix die Verhandlungen mit Martin Scorsese. Der Ausstieg von Paramount Pictures liegt laut einem Sprecher vor allem daran, dass Scorseses Film ein riskanter Deal ist und Paramount sich dieses Risiko nicht leisten kann. Hauptdarsteller im neuen Streifen The Irishman sind keine geringeren als Al Pacino (Der Pate), Robert De Niro (Meine Frau, ihre Schwiegereltern und ich), Harvey Keitel (Das Verm\u00c3\u00a4chtnis der Tempelritter) und Joe Pesci (Kevin \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Allein zu Hause). Regie \u00c3\u00bcbernimmt der bekannte Regisseur Martin Scorsese (Departed \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Unter Feinden, The Wolf of Wall Street und Hugo Cabret). Die Geschichte in The Irishman basiert auf wahren Begebenheiten und dreht sich um Frank Sheeran, einen Auftragsm\u00c3\u00b6rder gespielt von Robert De Niro. Der Gewerkschaftsf\u00c3\u00bchrer Jimmy Hoffa wird von Al Pacino verk\u00c3\u00b6rpert.
