April dieses Jahres ist die erste Staffel der Serie \u00e2\u20ac\u017eAmerican Gods\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 in den USA erschienen. Nach nur acht Episoden war diese dann auch schon zu Ende. Im Mai wurde bereits die zweite Staffel der Serie angek\u00c3\u00bcndigt, laut The Wrap hat der Showrunner Bryan Fuller f\u00c3\u00bcr diese zehn Folgen sowie ein schnelleres Vorangehen der Geschichte versprochen. Auch die zweite Staffel von \u00e2\u20ac\u017eAmerican Gods\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 wird sich an Neil Gaimans Buch orientieren. In diesem wird die Geschichte \u00c3\u00bcber den Kampf zwischen den neuen und den alten G\u00c3\u00b6ttern thematisiert. Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) wurde erst im Staffelfinale der ersten Serie zu einem Gl\u00c3\u00a4ubigen. Laut Bryan Fuller sei die Geschwindigkeit in der ersten Staffel auf Shadow Moons mentale Verfassung zur\u00c3\u00bcckzuf\u00c3\u00bchren. Zu Beginn der ersten Staffel sa\u00c3\u0178 Shadow Moon aufgrund eines Raub\u00c3\u00bcberfalles im Gef\u00c3\u00a4ngnis. Als er seine Haft fast zu Ende abgesessen hat, wird er aufgrund des Todes seiner Frau Laura drei Tage eher entlassen. Bald begegnete er Mr. Wednesday, f\u00c3\u00bcr den er als Bodyguard arbeiten kann. So kam Shadow Moon schlie\u00c3\u0178lich mit den alten und neuen G\u00c3\u00b6ttern in Ber\u00c3\u00bchrung.
