Regisseurin Rees konnte sich bei der Produktion auf ein erstklassiges Team verlassen, darunter viele weibliche Crewmitglieder in leitenden Positionen. Gemeinsam beleuchten sie ein kaum bekanntes, aber faszinierendes Kapitel der amerikanischen Geschichte. Mudbound erz\u00c3\u00a4hlt die Geschichte der McAllan Familie, die gerade erst von der friedlichen Zivilisation in Memphis in das Mississippi Delta gekommen ist \u00e2\u20ac\u201c unvorbereitet auf die harten Bedingungen des Lebens auf der Farm.
