Staffel verl\u00c3\u00a4ngert. Da das Medicaldrama als die meistgesehene Serie des Networksenders seit mittlerweile 13 Jahren gilt, kam die Ank\u00c3\u00bcndigung \u00c3\u00bcber den Twitter-Account der Macher der Serie nicht \u00c3\u00bcberraschend. Wie viele Episoden The Good Doctor Staffel 2 umfassen soll, steht derzeit noch nicht fest. Das Medicaldrama dreht sich um Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore), dem soziale Interaktionen aufgrund seines Autismus schwerfallen. Nach einer eher problematischen Kindheit, ist er zu Beginn der Serie kurz davor, eine Karriere als Chirurg am St. Bonaventure Hospital in San Jose einzuschlagen. Dr. Shaun Murphy zeichnet sich vor allem durch seine direkte und ehrliche Art gegen\u00c3\u00bcber seinen Patienten aus. F\u00c3\u00bcr das Drehbuch von The Good Doctor ist David Shore verantwortlich. Als Executive Producer wurde neben Shore au\u00c3\u0178erdem Daniel Dae Kim engagiert.
