Die Netflix Original Serie Lost in Space ist eine moderne Neuinterpretation des Klassikers aus den 60er Jahren. Die Science-Fiction-Serie spielt 30 Jahre in der Zukunft \u00e2\u20ac\u201c in einer Zeit, in der die Besiedelung des Weltalls bereits Realit\u00c3\u00a4t ist. Lichtjahre von ihrem urspr\u00c3\u00bcnglichen Bestimmungsort entfernt. Neben den Robinsons sind noch zwei weitere Bewohner vom Kurs abgekommen. Die charismatische und zugleich argw\u00c3\u00b6hnische Dr. Smith (Parker Posey) ist eine Meisterin der Manipulation mit einem undurchschaubaren Plan. Mit ihr im Nirgendwo gestrandet ist der schelmische und ungewollt reizende Don West (Ignacio Serricchio). Ein hoch qualifizierter Unternehmer, der keinerlei Absicht hatte, der Kolonie beizutreten, ganz zu schweigen von der Bruchlandung auf einem verlorenen Planeten. Beide haben ein H\u00c3\u00a4ndchen, wenn es ums T\u00c3\u00a4uschen geht. Zum Cast des Netflix Originals Lost in Space geh\u00c3\u00b6ren Toby Stephens (Black Sails, Die Another Day) als John und Molly Parker (House of Cards, Deadwood) als Maureen. Sie spielen die Eltern, die sich im Laufe der Geschichte nicht nur um den Schutz der gesamten Familie, sondern auch um ihre entfremdete Beziehung zueinander k\u00c3\u00bcmmern m\u00c3\u00bcssen. Die willensstarke Judy wird von Taylor Russell (Falling Skies), die schlagfertige Penny von Mina Sundwall (Maggie\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Plan, Freeheld) und der neugierige und sensible Will von Max Jenkins (Sense8, Betrayal) verk\u00c3\u00b6rpert. Will ist das j\u00c3\u00bcngste Mitglied der Familie, der eine besondere Verbindung zu einem au\u00c3\u0178erirdischen Wesen aufbaut. Produziert wird die Serie von Legendary Television und basiert auf dem Drehbuch von Matt Sazama und Burk Sharpless (Dracula Untold, Last Witch Hunter). Zack Estrin (Prison Break) zeichnet als Showrunner verantwortlich. Alle drei fungieren zudem als Executive Producers \u00e2\u20ac\u201c an der Seite von Kevin Burns und Jon Jashni von Synthesis Entertainment sowie Neil Marshall und Marc Helwig von Applebox.
