Wie unter anderem Digital Spy berichtet, hat Netflix die neue Staffel des Historiendramas in Auftrag gegeben und wird auch alleine f\u00c3\u00bcr die Produktion verantwortlich sein, BBC America ist aus dem Projekt ausgestiegen. Die neue Staffel wird somit exklusiv f\u00c3\u00bcr Netflix produziert \u00e2\u20ac\u201c wann sie dort zur Verf\u00c3\u00bcgung stehen wird, steht im Moment noch nicht fest, Newsslash wird selbstverst\u00c3\u00a4ndlich am Ball bleiben! Die 3. Staffel von The Last Kingdom wird aus insgesamt zehn Episoden bestehen, auch die Dreharbeiten sollen bereits begonnen haben, als Showrunner wurde Stephen Butchard verpflichtet. Die Serie basiert auf Bernard Cornwells Roman Saxon Stories. Nach wie vor werden Alexander Dreymon, David Dawson, Tobias Santelmann, Ian Hart und Emily Cox in ihren bisherigen Rollen zu sehen sein. Wird es Uhtred (Dreymon) in der neuen Staffel gelingen, die D\u00c3\u00a4nen aus Bebbanburg zu vertreiben? The Last Kingdom spielt in der zweiten H\u00c3\u00a4lfte des 9. Jahrhunderts. Als Wikinger in das angels\u00c3\u00a4chsische K\u00c3\u00b6nigreich Englands einfallen, bleibt Wessex als einziges K\u00c3\u00b6nigreich \u00c3\u00bcbrig, das von da an nicht unter der Herrschaft der D\u00c3\u00a4nen steht.
