Dies verriet CEO Tim Cook auf der WWDC von Apple, die kurz vor dem zehnten Geburtstag des App Stores stattfand. In der Keynote wurden auch endlich Besucherzahlen genannt. Demnach generieren 500 Millionen Besucher pro Woche die Ums\u00c3\u00a4tze auf dem digitalen Marktplatz von Apple. F\u00c3\u00bcr das breite Portfolio auf Apples Marktplatz sind mittlerweile \u00c3\u00bcber 20 Millionen Entwickler auf der ganzen Welt verantwortlich, die ihre Produkte hier feilbieten. Chief Executive Cook, bekannt f\u00c3\u00bcr seine Zur\u00c3\u00bcckhaltung im \u00c3\u00b6ffentlichen Umgang mit Zahlen und Statistiken zum Unternehmen, lie\u00c3\u0178 auch noch verlauten, dass das Volumen der Apps, die in der hauseigenen Programmiersprache Swift geschrieben wurden, um 350.000 anwuchs. Wie viele genau es insgesamt sind, die die Sprache verwenden und wie viele Apps \u00c3\u00bcberhaupt im App Store zur Verf\u00c3\u00bcgung stehen, ist aber weiter ein Geheimnis geblieben. Der Appstore wurde am 10. Juli 2008 f\u00c3\u00bcr die weite Welt ge\u00c3\u00b6ffnet. Die Vertriebsplattform handelt nur mit eigens f\u00c3\u00bcr das Betriebssystem iOS entwickelten Apps.
