Die Dreharbeiten f\u00c3\u00bcr \u00e2\u20ac\u017eQueen Sono\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 sollen bereits im kommenden Jahr beginnen. Die zuk\u00c3\u00bcnftige Hauptdarstellerin Peral Thusi hat die Serie pers\u00c3\u00b6nlich via <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PearlThusi\/status\/1072031139198582784\" target=\"_blank\">Twitter<\/a> angek\u00c3\u00bcndigt. In einem kurzen Videoclip betonte sie, dass Queen Sono das Spiel f\u00c3\u00bcr jeden K\u00c3\u00bcnstler auf dem Kontinent \u00c3\u00a4ndern wird. Sie bedankte sich au\u00c3\u0178erdem bei Netflix und k\u00c3\u00b6nne es nicht abwarten, dass jede junge Frau, jede Frau auf dem Kontinent \u00c3\u00bcberhaupt die ganze Welt Queen Sono kennenlernt. Queen Sono soll von dem Team aus Johannesburg, das im vergangenen Jahr bereits Catching Feelings produzierte, erschaffen werden. Auch in dieser Serie spielte Thusi bereits die Hauptrolle. Als Produzent wurde Tamsin Andersson engagiert, als Regisseur wird Kagiso Lediga fungieren. Laut Kelly Lungenbiel, die f\u00c3\u00bcr internationale Eigenproduktionen bei Netflix verantwortlich ist, sei der VoD-Anbieter leidenschaftlich gern dabei etwas zu tun, das sich frisch und anders anf\u00c3\u00bchlt. Netflix liebe das Team hinter der Serie, vor allem deren Sichtweise und die Schaffung einer starken weiblichen Figur habe Netflix von dem Format \u00c3\u00bcberzeugt. Laut Erik Barmack, der die neue Hauptfigur mit Claire Underwood aus House of Cards verglich, sei Queen Sono lediglich die erste von mehreren Netflix Originalen, die in Afrika geplant seien. Im Laufe der Zeit sollen die Wurzeln des VoD-Anbieters in Afrika und S\u00c3\u00bcdafrika tiefer werden.
