Dezember startet die Serienadaption The Stand nach dem gleichnamigen Roman von Stephen King. Nachdem es schon einmal eine Miniserie in den 1990ern gab, warten Fans des King of Horror schon sehns\u00c3\u00bcchtig auf die Serienumsetzung in diesem Jahr. Nun gibt es mit dem Startdatum auch einen ersten Teaser-Trailer, in dem man unter anderem Whoopi Goldberg sehen kann. Leider ist noch nicht bekannt, wo und wann wir in Deutschland die d\u00c3\u00bcsteren und erschreckenden Geschichten von The Stand sehen k\u00c3\u00b6nnen. Stephen Kings The Stand ist grunds\u00c3\u00a4tzlich schon einmal nichts f\u00c3\u00bcr schwache Nerven. Und vielleicht ist es auch ein ung\u00c3\u00bcnstiges Jahr, in dem verlassene St\u00c3\u00a4dte, Leid und Krankheit das Bild der Welt pr\u00c3\u00a4gen. Denn in The Stand hat ein Virus aus einem Labor in Nordamerika fast die ganze Menschheit ausgerottet. Vereinzelt gibt es noch Menschen, die sich eigentlich nicht kennen. Aber sie haben die gleichen Tr\u00c3\u00a4ume. Das Schicksal der Welt liegt nun in den H\u00c3\u00a4nden von Mother Abagail. Die 108-J\u00c3\u00a4hrige wird von Whoopi Goldberg gespielt. Ja, nun kann man sagen, dass wir von Viren nun sicherlich alle die Nase voll haben (ich, welch ein Wortspiel), und solch eine Serie im Corona-Jahr v\u00c3\u00b6llig unpassend ist. Aber ehrlich, die Bedrohung durch Viren ist allgegenw\u00c3\u00a4rtig, immer da und daher ist The Stand durchaus auch in einem Corona-Jahr m\u00c3\u00b6glich. Au\u00c3\u0178erdem verr\u00c3\u00a4t Showrunner benjamin Cavell noch ein kleines Detail, welches es vielleicht sogar unglaublich wichtig macht, dass The Stand gerade jetzt auf die Fernsehschirme kommt: \u00e2\u20ac\u017eW\u00c3\u00a4hrend der zwei Jahre, die wir damit verbracht haben, &#8216;The Stand&#8217; zu machen, haben wir die Verantwortung gesp\u00c3\u00bcrt, das vielleicht beliebteste Werk von einem der beliebtesten Geschichtenerz\u00c3\u00a4hler zu adaptieren, aber niemand von uns h\u00c3\u00a4tte sich vorstellen k\u00c3\u00b6nnen, dass Stephen Kings 40 Jahre altes Meisterwerk \u00c3\u00bcber eine globale Pandemie so unheimlich relevant werden k\u00c3\u00b6nnte. Wir f\u00c3\u00bchlen uns geehrt, diese epische Geschichte mit einem Zusatz, den Stephen King seit Jahren hinzuf\u00c3\u00bcgen wollte, zu erz\u00c3\u00a4hlen. Wir sind sehr stolz auf die Serie und ihren Versuch, Bedeutung und Hoffnung in den unsichersten Zeiten zu finden.
