Die gesamte Stadt steht unter Quarant\u00c3\u00a4ne und trennt zwei Liebende. Die ganze Stadt wird unter Quarant\u00c3\u00a4ne gestellt. Es beginnt ein Kampf auf Leben und Tod f\u00c3\u00bcr die Eingeschlossenen. Zwei Liebende werden durch die drastischen Ma\u00c3\u0178nahmen auseinandergerissen und versuchen, wieder zusammenzukommen. Irgendwann muss das ja vorbei sein. Aber das Virus w\u00c3\u00bctet und die Quarant\u00c3\u00a4ne dauert an. Die Serie zeigt nicht nur den Kampf der beiden Menschen, sondern vor allem auch, wie sich die Menschen in der eingeschlossenen Stadt ver\u00c3\u00a4ndern, wie die Beschr\u00c3\u00a4nkungen auf sie wirken und welche Seiten sie in den Menschen hervorbringen. Manche verlieren ihre Menschlichkeit und manche werden auf einmal zum Helden\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6. Hinter der Serie stehen Julie Plec als Showrunner, die man durch Vampire Diaries und The Originals kennt. David Nutter ist als Produzent dabei. Die Serie Containment ist ein Remake der belgischen Serie Cordon, in der ein Virus in Antwerpen ausbricht, und die Menschen in Quarant\u00c3\u00a4ne gepfercht werden.
