Martin pers\u00c3\u00b6nlich wird das Drehbuch schreiben. Dass die Serie wirklich kommt, zeigt, dass nicht nur eine Pilotfolge, sondern gleich eine ganze Staffel des neuen Prequels bestellt wurde. Die Serie soll vor den Geschehnissen von Game of Thrones spielen. Angek\u00c3\u00bcndigt wurde Knight Of Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight im Rahmen des Pressevents von Warner Bros, auf dem der Mediengigant seinen neuen Streamingdienst Max vorstellte. Max ist eine Zusammenlegung von HBO Max und Discovery. Eine erste Inhaltsvorstellung gibt es auch schon: \u00e2\u20ac\u017eEin Jahrhundert vor den Ereignissen aus \u00e2\u20ac\u0161Game Of Thrones\u00e2\u20ac\u02dc streifen zwei untypische Helden durch Westeros\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 ein junger, naiver, aber mutiger Ritter, Ser Duncan der Gro\u00c3\u0178e, und sein kleiner Knappe Egg. In einer Zeit, in der die Targaryen-Linie immer noch auf dem Eisernen Thron sitzt und die Erinnerung an den letzten Drachen noch nicht aus dem Ged\u00c3\u00a4chtnis der Menschen verschwunden ist, warten gro\u00c3\u0178e Schicksale, m\u00c3\u00a4chtige Feinde und gef\u00c3\u00a4hrliche Heldentaten auf diese ungew\u00c3\u00b6hnlichen und ungleichen Freunde.\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 Vorlage sind also die Geschichten um den Knappen Duncan the Tall, den Fans von Game of Thrones l\u00c3\u00a4ngst als Aegon V. Targaryen kennen. Unter dem Namen Egg erlebt der seine ersten Abenteuer. Martin hat bisher drei Novellen in der &#8220;Tales of Dunk and Egg&#8221;-Serie ver\u00c3\u00b6ffentlicht: &#8220;The Hedge Knight&#8221; im Jahr 1998, &#8220;The Sworn Sword&#8221; im Jahr 2003 und &#8220;The Mystery Knight&#8221; im Jahr 2010. Die drei Novellen wurden dann gesammelt und 2015 als &#8220;A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms&#8221; ver\u00c3\u00b6ffentlicht. Martin wird als Autor und ausf\u00c3\u00bchrender Produzent fungieren, ebenso wie Ira Parker, der bei Staffel 1 von &#8220;House of the Dragon&#8221; als Co-Executive Producer fungierte. Die &#8220;Game of Thrones&#8221;- und &#8220;House of the Dragon&#8221;-Veteranen Ryan Condal und Vince Gerardis sind ebenfalls als ausf\u00c3\u00bchrende Produzenten mit dabei. Von den zahlreichen Projekten, die im Laufe der Jahre angek\u00c3\u00bcndigt wurden, war &#8220;House of the Dragon&#8221; das einzige, das vor diesem Projekt in Angriff genommen wurde. Die erste Staffel dieser Serie feierte im August 2022 Premiere und wurde bereits weniger als eine Woche nach dem Start um eine zweite Staffel verl\u00c3\u00a4ngert.
