The Oscar Award, organised by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts, is an indescribable and prestigious ceremony held once a year. Known for its grandeur event, recognises many talented artisans across the industry–best actress, best film, best actor, costume designer, set designer, make-up artist, and many more categories. Organised by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts, the Annual Governors Awards, held during November or December, recognise honorees and their contributions to the film industry.
In the special honoree category, Tom Cruise is ready to receive his first lifetime achievement award along with other notable artists. Though his earlier films, such as Born on the Fourth of July, Magnolia, Jerry Maguire, and Top Gun: Maverick, had been nominated for best actor, best supporting actor, and best producer, never won an Oscar.

Tom Cruise–a legend in filmmaking–has dedicated himself to movies from a young age. His limited role in Endless Love in 1981 created a stage for further endeavours. Tom’s breakthrough came with the movie Risky Business in 1983. Thereafter, movies like Top Gun, The Colour of Money, Rain Man, and A Few Good Men solidified his status as a leading Hollywood actor.
MI Franchise
In 1996, Tom Cruise and then-film producer Paula Wagner formed a production company called Cruise/Wagner Productions. Under this production house, many films were released, especially the MI franchise, thus building a strong empire in the movie industry. These films across the countries broke box-office records and earned significant recognition for their innovative technologies, captivating visuals, compelling storyline, high-octane stunts, and character-driven content.
Nominated But Missed
Over the years, Tom Cruise has been considered one of the most deserving candidates for an Oscar. Tom performs his own stunts in the movies.
