Fubar is a series that deserves to be celebrated. It seamlessly blends action, comedy, and the timeless talent of Arnold Schwarzenegger into a concoction that left me both satisfied and craving for more.Quite entertaining and not to be taken seriously as its a light hearted action comedy . It’s one of those movies where the enemy has a hard time hitting anyone when using a gun but the real story here is family and relationships.
This is a great show with a great cast, it’s unpredictable, with a lot of twists and turns.Spies, and espionage, with a dash of light humor. The series skillfully balances action-packed sequences with compelling interpersonal drama, creating a riveting viewing experience. This show has a great balance between action and comedy. This is a Netflix Gem.
The Thriller Storyline
FUBAR delivers thrilling CIA missions with aplomb, but it’s the unconventional father-daughter dynamics that truly sets the series apart. It provides a fresh angle to the genre, with the familial aspects adding layers of emotional depth that enhance the stakes of the undercover operations. This story was about a CIA operative whose job kept him away from his family and mostly became problematic after he discovered his daughter is a CIA operative who has also been living a double life. As such this 8 episode TV series focused on the life of lies he had lived, unraveling a whole new relationship with his daughter and hopefully winning his ex wife back.
The Best Part
FUBAR is about a CIA operative (Schwarzenegger) who’s about to retire but gets pulled back for one last job. That job is to go help another operative finish an important mission and to his surprise it’s his own daughter (Monica Barbaro) who he had no idea was also in the CIA. What follows is plenty of action and laughs. This is a very easy watch for you to just turn your brain off and enjoy it for what it is.
Don’t expect it to be mind-blowing or anything. But if you’re in need of some good old action-style fun from the 80’s and 90’s, this is the series for you. Not only does Arnold steals the show, but through his performance, he also makes sure the rest of the cast doesn’t stay in his shadow.

The Season 2
FUBAR Season 2 picks up right where Season 1 left off with more chaos, more sarcasm, and the same explosive mix of espionage and dysfunctional family dynamics. The show continues to center around Luke Brunner (Arnold Schwarzenegger), a seasoned CIA operative who now must balance being a father, spy, and reluctant mentor, all while patching up decades of personal damage.
Season 2 dives deeper into the aftermath of the big family reveal from Season 1. Now that his daughter Emma (Monica Barbaro) is also a CIA agent and their secret double lives are no longer secret.
Season 1 had its sluggish moments, but Season 2 keeps the episodes sharp and action-heavy, with just enough downtime to let emotional subplots breathe.
New And Old Characters
Arnold Schwarzenegger shines in his role as a seasoned CIA agent, bringing the same hard-hitting energy that we’ve come to know and love from his past roles. Monica Barbaro, on the other hand, steals the show with her performance. She not only convincingly portrays a skilled and determined agent but also a complex daughter wrestling with the realities of her unusual family life in FUBAR.
The supporting cast Barry, Tina, Aldon, and Roo get more spotlight. Their chemistry is better than ever, and they’re no longer just comic relief. Tina and Aldon also have an unexpected romantic subplot that doesn’t feel forced.

The Conclusion
FUBAR Season 2 concludes with resolution, redemption, and a surprise villain return that strikes a balance between humour, emotion, and high-octane action. In the last episode, Carter proposes to her after they both survive a near-death mission. In a twist, Emma decides not to leave the CIA, but also not to break up-choosing a dual path: to serve with integrity but set boundaries on how far she’s willing to go. Season 3 will open with the Brunner family delving deeper into the spy world than ever before.
