We have many popular films, Princess Diaries, A Royal Christmas, Royally Ever After, The Prince & Me, Royal Hearts, and more. Joining the bandwagon with Desi Rajputs, we have the “The Royals” web series, with a stellar cast and interesting storyline coming soon on Netflix. Let’s see all the details below.
The Plot
The sudden death of Morpur King forced Prince Aviraaj Singh, aka Ishaan Khatter, to inherit the crown and dissolve all the accumulated debts of the princely state. Unable to control the expenses or his relatives, he decides to turn the Ancestral Palace into a commercial B&B staycation, whose contract is given to the ambitious entrepreneur Sophia Kanmani Sekhar, aka Bhumi Pednekar. She decides to transform the crumbling palace into a landmark of Morpur.
As the story suggests that opposites attract, and sparks fly between them slowly. But ever a royal story between a prince and to commoner ended up without drama? Never! Get ready to witness the royal chaos, true love, betrayal, and filial duties very soon.
Cast and Crew
Certainly, the crowd-pulling luxury of “The Royals” is its cast. We have Bhumi Pednekar, Ishaan Khatter, Sakshi Tanwar, & Zeenat Aman playing the main protagonists, who are eye candies. But this celebration doesn’t stop here. Versatile actors Milind Soman, Vihaan Samat, Chunky Pandey, and Dino Morea are onboard. Furthermore, actors Nora Fatehi, Kavya Trehan, Sumukhi Suresh, and Udit Arora are expected to have Cameos.
Location and Embellishments
The filming locations are taken from the abode of the Regal Rajputs, Rajasthan. Most of the series was shot in Jaipur. The trailer has shown some notable locations like the City Palace, Rambagh Palace, and more. Likewise, attire and embellishments are big game in series. We can see Bhumi in the mix of modern-classy outfits while Sakshi Tanwar, the widowed Queen, is set in excellent sarees with heavily adorned jewels.
The official partners for fashion design have not yet been released, but we can see Rajesh Pratap Singh’s label come up, as he has been spotted attending the promotions of the series. He’s a recognized craftsman who blends traditional to semi-modern silhouettes. Another popping-out label is Rimzim Dadu. They are prominent in a mixture of unique textures in outfits.

Release and Episodes
The awaited series is premiering on May 9th this year with official partner Netflix. The number of episodes isn’t released, but we assume it’s between six and ten episodes. Also, some fans mention that the story has good potential, that even The Royals Season 2 is possible with Ishaan Khatter as reigning King. But surely it’s not in the cards very soon.
