Anime is one of the best live art creations ever made. The gripping character design and thrilling twists of the horror series are insane. Sometimes, it’s even impossible for real films to match those wants. On the topic, we have picked the best five horror suspense anime to binge on Netflix. This list is not a comparison; just putting out your options.

Death Note

Watching Death Note is an experience. Ryuk, a hell messenger bored from the Shinigami realm, drops his Death Note on Earth. In this, if you write a name, imagining a face, they will be dead in 45 seconds from a Heart attack. Soon, Light Yagami turns this chance into a global-level massacre, grabbing the attention of a hardcore detective, L, to crack the case. This is the best anime series Japan has ever made, a perfect pick!! Also Available: Prime Video, Crunchyroll

IMDb: 8.9/10                     Rotten Tomatoes: 100%             My Rating: 5/5

Dan Da Dan

Dan Da Dan, illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu, is a supernatural, sci-fi, & comedy story that centers high school students Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura, whose differing opinions on ghosts vs aliens cause them to encounter a series of bizarre yet dangerous entities. They awaken their hidden psychic powers and tackle the beings. This anime is different from what we expect; it has everything random, but it is super entertaining to watch. Also Available: Prime Video, Crunchyroll

IMDb: 8.4/10                     Rotten Tomatoes: 100%             My Rating: 4.4/5

Tokyo Ghoul

The hybrid world where ghouls (flesh-eating creatures) coexist with humans seems good in every way, other than their craving for blood. When Ken Kaneki goes on a date with the beautiful Rize, he he only realizes that she is more interested in eating than dating him. Plus points are excellent graphics with a story from both their perspectives. It’s very rare to see, especially in supernatural comics like this. So, do give this a try! Also Available: Crunchyroll

IMDb: 7.7/10                     Rotten Tomatoes: 100%             My Rating: 4/5

Dark Gathering

The sci-fi occult series revolves around Keitaro, who works part-time tutor to prodigy Yayoi, a gifted medium. It deeply touches dark subjects like murder, death, blood, curse, spirits, etc. The character development in to plot is very relatable and gives perspective. Fans loved the comedy, wit, and approach in each episode. So if you are interested in myths, Urban legends, and evil, then Dark Gathering manga and anime are heaven. Also Available: JioHotstar and Anime Times Amazon

IMDb: 7.2/10                     Rotten Tomatoes: 87%             My Rating: 4.2/5

The Grimm Variations

Just like the name, Grimm Variations anime is not for the weak. Their take on the classic age-old tales, i.e., six standalone episodes with gore, raw, mature, & dark themes, plays psychological manipulation on most viewers. It showcases the real truth with a haunting perspective. Surprisingly, each episode comes from a different director. So if you can handle the graphic violence and brutality, it’s ok. Else, skip! Available only on Netflix

IMDb: 6.3/10                     Rotten Tomatoes: 100%             My Rating: 3.8/5
