When they say marriages are made in heaven, it’s 99% true for all couples except them. Veer and Poyal are two very, very different-minded people married on their parents’ will. What happens when some unknown threat causes them to run on their wedding night? Curious! Let’s go in for a detailed review of this romcom, whether glam or sham.
The Shaadi bells
When introverted Veer Poddar, aka Pratik Gandhi, gets into an arranged marriage with Koyal Chadda, aka Yami Gautham, everything is chaos. On the day of their wedding night, some goons mistake them for handling a missing pendrive called “Charlie”, which forces a fight-or-flight situation. They navigate a series of events, misfortune, action, and adventure. While being unable to tolerate each other’s behaviors to realize their true sides, sparks fly between them. The film unravels concepts of modern marriages.
Visuals and Guns
The director Rishab Seth has succeeded in achieving the perfect medley of comedy to action ratio, even though both are critically acclaimed actors for serious roles. Film’s focus on societal commentary while facing their issues works well for the audience. However, some scenes might feel rushed and familiar. Also, Eijaz Khan as the antagonist is a little lacking in character because of the limited scope of interest or motive. Overall, they adjust all pluses and minuses by the climax. So visuals and guns are vibing.
Crafting Characters
The film is Yami Gautam’s one-woman show. Her portrayal as a modern Mumbaikar with relatable dialogue is spot-on. She killed with her violent yet cute vibe. While Pratik, as a sleek and innocent husband with many phobias, did decent justice to his part. Together, they work out the plausible story into a good watch. Especially some scenes where Koyal speaks about stereotypes and gender norms, adding character depth.

Soundtrack
As the movie is a combination of modern-day romcom to action, it has fewer songs. The music composer Clinton Cerejo has kept lighter tunes like “How Are You” and “Silsila,” which aren’t superhits but do work for the situation. In contrast, the background score is way better. It complements the firebrand duo, enhancing their comic & action sides.
Final Verdict
Dhoom Dhaam has all the points for a decent couch watch. It has fierce elements and a fast-paced story, joined with major comedy & slightly softer love angles. The on-screen chemistry of actors has clicked boxes. However, they failed to keep the suspense, as it’s somewhat predictable, and they could’ve used Mumbai city better than clichés.
