When Simbalsaran’s “Maanaadu” film was released with a new concept to the audience, it became a major hit with its intense sci-fi time-looping. The same theory follows in “Bhool Chuk Maaf” but in a different flavour, culture, and twist. When you first glimpse the trailer, it looks like a story of a struggling lover’s marriage in Varanasi. But the story has more magic to it. Everything to know about the upcoming film.
The Plot
The semi-sci-fi rom-com film starts with Ranjan, aka Rajkumar Rao, a hopeless romantic struggling to get a government job to marry his sweetheart Titli, aka Wamiqa Gabbi. When he gets thrown ultimatum to land a job in two months, somehow he earns that & the wedding preparations start. Right before the wedding date, 30th. Fate intervenes, unable to move to the next day. He lives on the same day, the 29th, repeatedly, stuck in a time loop. Now, he has to sort solution to break free from the chaos and set things right!
This concept is entirely new in Bollywood and quirky to watch in a stereotypical setting. Especially loud Indian weddings with tons of Poojas and traditions to follow.
Director and Cast
Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films is known for producing very unique & engaging concepts, experimenting with the audience. His films break the boundaries of stereotypes in local nature. We have superhits like Luka Chuppi, Stree, Shiddat, Hindi Medium, etc. So Bhool Chuk Maaf is getting ready to join this elite list. Let’s see all the cast and crew below.
We have Rajkumar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi as protagonists. Followed by Seema Pahwa, Sanjay Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Raghubir Yadav, Ishtiyak Khan, Revathi, and Kumud Mishra on supporting and side characters of the film.
Soundtrack and Location
Just like always, most Maddock films are set by superstar music director Tanishk Bagchi. The notable tune in Bhool Chuk Maaf’s trailer is a recreation of the film Love Aaj Kaal’s spectacular song “Chor Bazaari Phir Se”. As for the backdrop location, the story is set in the City of Moksha, Varanasi. Further, scenes were filmed in a local setup in Mumbai. Currently, Rajkumar and Gabbi are actively promoting their films on TV shows.
