Nepotism might give the starting push, but in the real game of Indian cinema, everyone suffers equal ordeal to entertain the audience. As easily fame comes, it vanishes too. It’s no guarantee that Amitabh Bachchanâs son will be the next successful Bachchan to continue the legacy. In fact, with Abhishek Bachchanâs recent film choices, it seems hard to pass. Letâs go into details and see if the recent backlash on his fame is necessary or inevitable.
Greater Beginning
Amitabh Bachchan sir is a legend and his reign continues for generations. With that many expectations, Abhishek was launched, while his debut film, Refugee, became a banger. The beginning phase was the best; He worked with top-notch directors, and almost every venture was a blockbuster. Starting with Dhoom in 2004, an excellent lineup of films like Bunty Aur Babli, Guru, Dhoom 2 in 2006, Sarkar & Yuva were all well-received. Now, Abhishek Bachchan is celebrating 25 years of his acting life with heartfelt blessings.
Little Underperformed
From 2004 to 2010, Abhisekh Bachchan had the strongest phase and was a competitor to the Three Khans. However, further choice of projects didnât gain him much popularity. He acted in Drona and Dhoom 3, which did average at the box office. Next is âThe Big Bullâ film, which is fully dominated by the prequel Pratik Gandhiâs Scam 1992.
While films like Bob Biswas, Be Happy, Ghoomer, Housefull 3, Housefull 5, Bol Bachchan, All is Well, and Players all remained mediocre without any impact. In the middle, he performed some excellent projects like Ludo, Farah Khanâs Happy New Year, and Dasvi. These were mind-blowing roles, but being released amid flops didn’t give them true recognition.
Controversies
Abhisek Bachchan suffered his fair share of controversies. The actor was constantly put up in discussions whenever a film of Aishwarya or Amitabh Bachchan gets iconic. Next, they slam him as unsuccessful and always compare his slow-growing fame. This got amped up into extreme negativity when divorce rumors started. As Aishwarya Rai attended few functions without him, the media tagged a divorce mark and said the top actress was suffering from the Bachchans.Â
This caused him potential loss of opportunities from top directors and producers. Recently, Abhishek Bachchan also got trolled for an extramarital relationship with Lunch Box actress Nimrat Kaur, which is neither denied nor accepted. As of now they have been working as colleagues in more than 3 films, which continues the negative light.
Declining Film Score
In fact, out of his career of 48 Bollywood films, around 29 films are flops, and some are blockbuster bombs. Especially Om Jai Jagadish, Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke, Sharaarat, and Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai, and added to this list are his recently released trio of disasters. He acted in a dance-themed film, Be Happy, a horrendous performance with Nora Fatehi, directed by Remo DâSouza. Next is I Want to Talk, another boring element, topping off this Housefull 5 with Akshay Kumar and Ritesh Deshmukh, the worst out of the franchise.

Brighter Future in 2026 films
Abhishek Bachchan is going through an unsuccessful phase and is quite overshadowed by his father, who proved that he never ages with Aswanthamaâs role in Kalki 2898 AD. And Aishwarya Rai is treated goddess, especially in the South Indian industry, the Ponniyan Selvan franchise, and more projects. However, we shouldnât forget that he is just a man, and with good scripts, he too can shine like he did in Delhi 6 and Happy New Year.Â
Well, surely the future is looking bright next year. The actor soon turns 50 in 2026 and has excellent films like Bholaa with Ajay Devgn, Jahnavi Kapoorâs Param Sundari, Kaalidhar Laapata and Hera Pheri III with Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal. These roles sure bring his glory back.
