In 2020, Lewis was diagnosed with stage-III breast cancer, thus marking the beginning of her long, torturous yet courageous health campaign. 

She chose to try learning alternative therapies and delayed medical screenings and later regretted not acting sooner. In 2024, the cancer developed to stage IV and ultimately led to her demise in 2025.
