I know! Many Sex and the City fans were waiting for And Just Like That… season 3 to premiere. And finally, our wish has come true. On 29th May 2025, AJLT streamed on Jio Hotstar, and upon its release, it received both raving and disapproving reviews over the storyline. However, globally, AJLT’s premiering added a feather to its show’s successful hat. The director, Michael Patrick King, has sustained the original flavorful elements of Sex and the City—wearing designer clothes, an extravagant lifestyle, love failures, personal growth, and, more importantly, friendship—that redefine the show’s unique charm.
Four independent and powerful women residing in New York re-explore their love life while navigating the complexities arising on their way. We may still feel the void in the show because of Samantha’s exit, but as the story continues, characters overshadow her presence, thus setting a perfect stage for rekindling friendship. AJLT has its niche fandom because of its storyline, intriguing locations, and picture-perfect costumes.
Whether it may be the series’ lead character, Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sara Jessica Parker, or her friends Miranda, played by Cynthia Nixon; Charlotte York, played by Kristin Davis, and Seema Patel, played by Sarita Choudhury, each brings her unique voice and perspective to the ever-evolving landscape of love, friendship, and ambition in New York City.
Beep Beep Beep
Carrie has always been resistant to technology, as we all know. However, selling her old apartment and moving into a new one forced her out of her comfort zone and into a more modern, tech-connected lifestyle. But this transition will create chaos and discomfort as she adapts to it, ultimately calling Miranda for help after Carrie slips and falls whilst switching off the buzzer in the kitchen. Meanwhile, as the trio—Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte—enjoy their drinks at a bar, the arrival of a nun in Miranda’s life acts as a retrospection.
The Old Boyfriend
To Aiden, his three children’s needs come on priority. Though he maintains a long-distance relationship with Carrie, neither of them confesses their true feelings for each other over time. But, when season 2 wrapped up, Aiden made it clear to Carrie he wouldn’t leave her again, promising to return once his children were capable of standing on their own. This act suggests that Aiden and Carrie are still lovers, and they care for each other with respect. As the story progresses, their phone conversation adds a bit of masala (spice) to the episode.
Dog Walker and Roaming
In the city, these independent women are handling their own crises. As for Charlotte, she loves dogs, while walking along with her dog in the park, one of the passersby–a woman, accuses Charlotte’s dog of misbehaving, which she completely resents and confronts the woman later. Meanwhile, Ravi invites Seema on a location hunt for his upcoming film, taking her in a luxurious car, but despite the extravagance, their relationship lacks love. Ultimately, after enduring so much, Seema decides to end things with him.

Conclusion
In crisp, And Just Like That…delivers engaging content to the audience but lacks the original depth of the story. At times, we may feel the characters are pushed forcibly into the series for continuation. Nonetheless, all the characters’ performances, subtle humour, and aesthetically appealing locations—whether at a bar, restaurant, coffee house, park, or any spot in New York—come together beautifully to create a truly engaging viewing experience that captures the essence of the city’s charm and complexity. All these reminiscences of the nostalgic show–Sex and the City. However, people can watch AJLT on Jio Hotstar for further entertaining episodes; it is definitely worth the wait.
