Roh Jeong-eui, her name immediately drives us through the Korea. She has established herself as the most promising actress in the South Korean film industry since her debut. At the young age, Roh made her acting debut in the drama series “Quiz of God” as a child artist. This marked the beginning of a career in which she donned the hat of various roles over the years. Some of her notable drama appearances include Dream High 2, Operation Proposal, Full House Take 2, and Cheer Up, Mr. Kim!. Later, her performance in “The Phone” garnered huge recognition. During her teenage years, Roh starred in notable projects such as Phantom Detective, Flowers of the Prison, Live Up to Your Name, and others—roles that helped make her a household name in Korea.

But her recent coming-of-age series “Crushology 101” can not be said the same way. In Crushology 101, some appreciated the starcast, while others criticised it for the lack of depth in the story. Premiering on April 11, 2025, with 12 episodes, drew polarised responses upon its release. Helmed by Kim Ji-hoon, this series has an ensemble cast, notably, Roh Jeong-eui as Bunny, Lee Chae-min as Hwang Jae-yeol, Jo Joon-young as Cha Ji-won, Kim Hyun-jin as Jo A-rang, Hong Min-gi as Jin Hyun-oh, and Kim Min-chul as Dong-ha. 

College Love

Bunny is a stoic college-going girl, and prefers to hang out with her friends most of the time. Though she is beautiful inside and out, her choices in men lag. Bunny easily trusts others who portray deceptive charm, making her a frequent victim of romantic illusions. Ko Bong-su, a fellow college student, is a persistent admirer of Bunny and proposes to her to accept him as her boyfriend. While Bunny, unable to say no to his sweet gestures, falls into a disguised illusion. 

Everything Is Fair and Square In Love 

Every day, Ko Bong-su brings special gifts to Bunny, thus making her believe his love to be true. One day, while conversing about their upcoming trip, Ko Bong-su gifts Bunny a necklace. Drawn to it, Bunny accepts it. Meanwhile, their collision with another handsome guy changed the whole scenario. Desperate to speak with Ko Bong-su, Bunny constantly calls him, and he ignores her calls while in an announcement room. Parallely, Ko Bong-su attends another call and unknowingly hits the speaker button, ultimately audible to everyone on the campus, including Bunny. Shocked by the conversation, Bunny ends the relationship with Ko Bong-su by confronting him on the campus amidst others.

Heartbreak or New Love?

Bunny’s first love may have ended, but fate offers her four new possibilities, each transforming her perception of love. Later, Bunny develops an infatuation with her fellow college students, which ultimately leads to a break-up; a recurring lesson in her personal syllabus of heartbreak. Before moving on, given the situation, Bunny’s friends advise and suggest that she take a step back, observe more carefully, and guard her heart before diving headfirst into another crush. 

This series focuses on Bunny and the ups and downs in her new relationships. It sheds light on Bunny’s supportive parents and friends, who bring a strong and unwavering presence that empowers her to keep moving forward. “The Crushology 101” series definitely has all the cool and Gen Z elements; the director has beautifully and aesthetically captured the essence of college life, and the different colour palette in the background adds a special dimension to the screen while watching. In short, Crushology 101 is worth watching. Few fans may be disappointed by its conclusion on May 17, 2025. Nevertheless, people wish to see season 2.
