Salman Khan’s shaan, dignity, and one of the most memorable films, “Bajrangi Bhaijaan,” released in 2015, are completing a decade full of fandom, emotions, and patriotism. This wholesome film, written by V. Vijayendra Prasad, is director Kabir Khan’s dream project. It won Best Director and Best Actor Filmfare awards too. Let’s reminisce about all the details below.
The Plot
The story starts with Shahida, a six-year-old mute girl born in a small village in Pakistan. Her inability was the biggest concern to her parents. In the hope of getting a cure, her mother, Razia, and Shahida pay offerings at the Holy Nizamuddin Auliya Shrine in Delhi. However, while returning, she gets separated from her mother and anxiously gets into the wrong train that returns to Kurukshetra, India.
While aimlessly roaming the unfamiliar streets, she meets Pavan Kumar Chaturvedi, aka Salman Khan. He’s an honest and kind-hearted person from a strict Brahmin lineage. Despite being in struggles, Bhajrangi is determined to send Munni back home, without any visa or passport. He escorts her across all the difficulties and religious beliefs. His adventurous journey, only with pure intentions and love, steals the audience’s hearts.
What’s so special about the movie?
Salman Khan as Bhajrangi is the star of the film. His innocence, kindness, and ethics toward Lord Hanuman and humanity are heartfelt. Even in such a tough world, he risks all in for protecting a small girl across religions and even countries. Likewise, the director gives ample screen time to portray the hero’s personality, like multiple failures in the 10th class, being respectful to women, strong and unwavering devotion to the country, etc.
Further, all the supporting characters like Nawazuddin Siddique, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Harshaali Malhotra as Munni also performed great acting in their roles. The themes of humor, politics, hatred, and brotherhood are supported well in the film’s second half. The powerful climax, where Munni finally calls “Mama,” is so emotional.
Cinematography and Music
The film starts with the beautiful snowy hills of Pakistan. As the film moves, we see the beauty of the busy India Gate, Delhi roads, and celebrations for winning the India vs Pakistan cricket match. All are balanced to lighter and darker tones based on emotion. The songs are an underrated highlight of this film. Song by Adnan Shami, “Bhar Do Jholi Meri,” in Darga is a beautiful scene. Also, “Tum Chahiya by Atif Aslam, surrounding the love between Rasika and Bhajrangi, is magic, especially the lyrics, which are beautiful.
Rewatch value
I feel this film’s rewatch value is 10/10. It offers good entertainment, humor, and adventure. Every time you stream, it’s guaranteed that you connect to the universal feeling of brotherhood and love. It’s streaming free on Disney Hotstar and Netflix. So add this to your watchlist or binge right away. This film doesn’t demand mood; it makes it.
Any Chance for Bhaijaan 2?
Famous screenwriter and also the father of global film director R.R. Rajamouli, V. So if everything goes well, Bhaijaan might start shooting very soon.
