Part 1- Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train (2022)
The Storyline
It stays perfectly faithful to the manga version. While in the manga, Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke went to the train to find Rengoku to ask about Tanjiro’s ability, the movie version changes it to a mission for the four to aid him in hunting down the demon attacking the train. However, most of the moments in this movie are incredibly faithful to the manga, showing how well the writers were perfectly staying faithful to the manga.
The Visuals
As expected from many studios, the animation gives us stunning visuals, with the train’s design, the battles, and even the design of the train’s body. The animation must have taken days, so the designer’s hard work pays off as we are blessed with beautiful animation.
The Characters and Voice Over
Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke become more likable than ever, from their funny moments to their epic battles, it’s nice to see them again. Both the Japanese and English voice actors still do a splendid job with their roles. The villains, Enmu and Akaza, are also incredibly great, as they give our heroes a major struggle.
Japanese and English voice acting are also done well. However, besides Tanjiro, we have to give critical acclaim and praise to one of the greatest supporting characters, Kyojuro Rengoku, the Flame Hashira.
Part 2- Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Swordsmith Village (2023)

Following the aftermath of the explosive battle against Upper Rank 6 demons, Gyutaro and Daki show the heavy toll the battle took on Tanjiro and his friends. Focuses on the death of Tengen Uzui’s ninja wives, his retirement from the Demon Slayer Corps, and the introduction of the Upper Moon Meeting, revealing. Tanjiro travels to the secret Swordsmith Village to get his blade repaired. The arc teases a powerful new threat, setting up for new Upper Rank demons and intense battles to come.
Visuals and Sound
Top-tier animation as expected from Ufotable. The action scenes are crisp, fluid, and cinematic. Soundtrack Composed by Yuki Kajiura & Go Shiina. Intense battle themes with emotional undertones. Visual Effects, dreamlike color grading for the Upper Moon meeting. Explosions, sword trails, and elemental breathing techniques are beautiful on the big screen.

The Storyline
The movie takes a deep dive into the lives and struggles of the Hashira, providing a rich and emotional layer to the story. The challenges faced during their training are not just physical but delve into the characters’ psyches, creating a profound connection between the audience and the cast.
A layer of complexity to the narrative. The movie goes beyond being a typical action-packed anime and delves into universal themes of perseverance, camaraderie, and the eternal struggle between good and evil. It’s a thoughtful exploration of the human spirit.
The Animation
Animation quality is unparalleled, capturing the essence of Koyoharu Gotouge’s original manga illustrations with breathtaking precision. Every frame is a work of art, making the action sequences not just scenes to watch but experiences to immerse yourself in. The attention to detail in animation elevates the movie, creating a visual spectacle that stays with you long after leaving the screen.
