Fans have started to criticize the editing for Blends Coffee, Out of Order punctuation, misplaced advertisements, double spacing contradiction of reality, and shots in 2025. The series of glaring edits throughout Love Island has launched a spate of debates on TikTok and Twitter where users discuss everything from glitching costumes to skipping scenes.

Here is a list of some of the more obvious mistakes:

Costume changes take between seconds and minutes. In the June 26 episode, contestant Clarke Carraway was shown relaxing in a black bikini and suddenly cut to her wearing a brown one-piece swimsuit. Both scenes were in the same shot.

Reappearing props and disappearing glasses. The number of prosecco glasses perpendicular to each other has suddenly increased to 7 from 5 without any visible movement, indicating aftermovement cut editing.

Enhancing styled hair: One of Jaden Duggar’s confessional shots had her hair braided. When the camera cut and cut back, her hair turned into loose waves, which hints at an overall continuity polish.

Inconsistencies with drinking glasses: Viewers were confused about the sequence of events when Vanna Einerson was both shown drinking from an orange glass and then cut back to holding a blue one.

Reaction cuts too far away from the frame: The editing framing did not make sense, as there were some clips of islanders reacting in the villa to conversations that were definitely taking place in the Casa.

Some fans have been genuinely entertained by these oversights, while others have expressed concern, particularly due to the breakneck production pace of Love Island trimming episodes to “lightning speed.” Some are concerned, though, that heavy-handed editing, including “Frankenbiting”—remotely telling a story by stitching together words said at different times—could distort the reality of contestants’ stories while misleadingly shaping public perceptions.

As far as the glitches are concerned, the producers and editors have remained silent. It is worth noting, however, that some of these overlaps are inevitable in the unscripted reality show genre, which has to distill hours of filmed material into a narrative within wildly tight schedules.

As noted, Love Island continues to capture viewer interest due to its enticing mix of conflict and affection. However, the recent editing errors have served as a reminder of how carefully—and clumsily at times—things are put together out of sight.
