After the release of “Interview with the Vampire” in 1994, many of Pitt and Cruise’s fans anticipated their collaboration once again. The hype and their pair really enthralled the audience. However, this pair was often spotted at glamorous red carpet events and interviews. To commemorate their friendship, Brad Pitt, along with his then-girlfriend, later ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, showed up for Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman’s movie “ Eyes Wide Shut” in 1999.
When Tom Cruise was honoured ‘John Huston Award’ for his contribution to Artists’ Rights in 1998, Brad Pitt made a special appearance, thus elevating the majestic night. Besides, at one special event in 2002, Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and Penélope Cruz were photographed together, which highlighted the growing friendship between Pitt and Cruise.
Another Cruise and Brad Pitt Movie in 2019?
All the dots joined together and led to a line hinting at Cruise and Pitt’s collaboration once again. However, this became true when Top Gun: Maverick and F1 director Joseph Kosinski worked on the Ford V Ferrari script. But the project was dropped by the studio due to creative disagreements, script development challenges, and concerns about the high production costs. Ultimately, Ford v Ferrari was directed by James Mangold and starred Matt Damon and Christian Bale in the lead roles in 2019.
What Was the Story of Ford v Ferrari?
The story focuses on how the Ford company builds a racing car to compete with the prestigious Ferrari company after facing humiliation. Carroll Shelby, played by Matt Damon, a former racing driver, and Ken Miles, played by Christian Bale, are hired by Ford to design the racing car to win a race against Ferrari at Le Mans in 1963. Finally, after overcoming the struggles, the fully designed car hits the race track in 1966, thus winning the race.
Brad Spilt the Beans
To many people’s thoughts and questions, Brad has finally spilled the beans regarding his and Tom’s not working on the Ford v Ferrari movie. Brad and Tom are a perfect bromance; each would love to act together in the movies. In a recent conversation, Brad revealed that Tom Cruise was about to play Carroll Shelby, and he would play Ken Miles in Ford v Ferrari. However, Tom stepped away from the film after realising that Shelby’s character did not involve much driving, thus the film never materialised.
