Is This Love or Just a Loop of Emotional Gymnastics? Ohhh, Netflix. You gave us a situationship on steroids wrapped in steamy makeouts, mommy issues, and enough miscommunication to fuel ten spaceships. You didn’t just dip into the drama pool, you cannonballed into toxic love tropes with a sprinkle of Black excellence and a whole lotta emotional whiplash. But hey, was it a hot mess or just plain messy? Let’s dig in, babe.

What’s Good? The Spice That Actually Slaps.

Chemistry

Fire Meets Firecracker, and Boom! C’mon now, Keisha and Justin don’t just have chemistry… they’ve got the kind of messy magnetic pull that makes you yell “Kiss Or Fight, Make Up Your Damn Minds.” They flirt like it’s the Olympics and argue like it’s a court case. You don’t root for them, but damn – you watch starvingly!

Black Power

Finally, Some Real Flavor. Now this is where the show earns its flowers. The unapologetic Black brilliance? Loud, proud, and dripping in melanin magic. From hair textures to culture-coded clapbacks, the show doesn’t try to water it down and thank the Netflix gods for that representation? Slapped. And Slayed!

Visuals

Visuals are a Vibe Even When the Plot Ain’t a thing. Let’s just say, if this show were a person, it’d walk into the club glowing. Every frame looks like it’s been dipped in mood lighting and dipped again in expensive perfume. Even if the story’s spinning in circles, at least it’s spinning in designer boots with a killer soundtrack.

What’s Bad?

Plot

A Relationship Carousel (and Not the Cute Kind). Ohhh boy. Every episode is like déjà vu, but not in a fun way. One second they’re soulmates, the next they’re beefing like 8th graders. It’s giving: love bombing, gaslighting, trauma bonding AND still calling it romance? Really, Netflix? At some point I wasn’t sure if I was watching a love story or just two broken souls weaponizing hormones.

Female Lead

Complicated or Just a Walking Red Flag? Now let’s talk about our girl Keisha. Is she mysterious and layered? Or just commitment-phobic and toxic with a Pinterest board? Sis is selfish, petty, and allergic to growth. Like girl, heal. And maybe stop turning every emotional moment into a full-blown earthquake?

Male Lead

Baby Boy Syndrome Activated. Justin, my sweet delusional child. You’re cute but you fall faster than my Wi-Fi when it rains. Head over heels every episode like it’s his first crush. He’s insecure, naive, and would probably give her his kidneys after she blocks his number. It’s tragic. It’s tiring. It’s giving: stop embarrassing us, bro.

Gen Z? Girl, Where?

The show claims to be Gen Z-coded, but let’s be for real – not the music, not the slang, not the fit-checks, not even the TikTok energy. Ain’t no Gen Z I know they’re acting like they’re in a 2006 breakup montage with 2025 lighting.

Moms

Always the Buzzkill? Groundbreaking. Let’s not ignore this tired old formula: the moms make the hard calls, look mean, while the dads are just… there for vibes. Switch it up! Not all moms need to be villains in a trench coat.

Worth Watching?

Listen, if you’re in the mood to scream at your screen, text your ex, and dive into a show that’s as messy as your 2 AM thoughts then Forever might just be your toxic soulmate.  It’s not great storytelling, but it is a chaotic escape. And sometimes that’s enough. Think of it like binge-eating flaming hot chips: your stomach will hurt later, but that burn? Addictive.

Final Thought

Forever is like getting back with your toxic ex because the tension was good and the drama was addicting. It’s not about growth. It’s not about sense. It’s about vibes and bad decisions dressed up in velvet and gold.

Would I recommend it? Only if your brain needs a break and your heart needs a lil’ chaos. Because watching Forever is like trying to sip tea during an earthquake – messy, unstable, but somehow, you can’t stop bringing the cup back to your lips.
