XO Kitty, the American-Korean medley series, is back with another season on Netflix. The first season ended with Min Ho abruptly proposing to Kitty on the return plane. Did she accept? What about her feelings on Yuri? Leaving us and kitty in suspense. If you are a curious fan like me, waiting for answers, then this detailed review is for you. Let’s see if it’s a hit or miss, this time.
Sharks, Death, and Survival
Katherina Song Covey, aka Kitty, is back at KISS (Korean Independent School of Seoul) for her second semester of high school. She’s determined not to indulge in any of her previous love mishaps or triangles. But fate has a different play in store. As she discovers new info about her mother’s complex relationship with “Simon.” The journey starts again with her strong desire to connect deep into the past, but unresolved feelings for Yuri and Min Ho’s special care for her aren’t easy struggles to get away from. So, Kitty season 2 ends with the same old cliffhanger of a possible love with Min Ho.
Visuals and Vibes
The director or writer should’ve read the audience’s perspective. Because it has more truth than controversy or negativity, the show’s plot is heavily lagging. I believe the issue they are continuing, even in the second part, is Hollywoodizing a classic Korean school background. K-dramas have their trademark, especially for school love.
So going in such an existing concept means adapting and culturizing. But makers just add the local festivals here, and they keep Korean American actors, just add-ons to the baseless story. The visuals are the same old ones as the first part, they always involve Kitty’s love life, more ignoring her real personality or purpose,” Her late mother”.
Crafting Characters
Kitty Song is the little sister of the acclaimed character Lara Jean, from the Netflix hit film series To All the Boys I have Loved Before.” As usual, Anna Cathcart did her best in navigating the awkward-sweet moments. But most of her scenes seem no different from the first part; her wardrobe is upgraded, though. Next is our fan favorite, MinHo Moon, the only character that’s keeping fans watching the show for its heavily lacking plot. Other characters are not bad. Let’s say they kept the LGBTQ vibe on in this season as well.

More and More Korean Songs
The context of both seasons is set on introducing popular Korean songs as background music related to the scenes. They have like Pink Venom from BLACKPINK, Telepathy from BTS, Venom from Stray Kids, Spinning from GRAE, and more. So, viewers, this sure is a treat for the ears. I have learned many new Korean songs from the post credits.
Final Verdict
XO Kitty is like an attractive love-hate relationship. It pulls the audience with its charm and pushes them away with boredom for its lack of story or unnatural scenes. I wouldn’t say they completely misled because the cameo of Noah Centineo and scenes with Min Ho are good. I would say if you like slow-paced dramas and have already watched the franchise, then do watch the one that has just been renewed for season 3, coming in 2026.
