If you are afraid of clowns, then this film is not for you. Yes! Stephen King’s universe of ultra-scarry IT is coming back for another installment. Actually, this film is more like a prequel to all the previous films. It tells the origin story of the treacherous entity and the dark history of the town of Derry. Let’s delve into more details of the upcoming film.
Welcome to Derry
The trailer narrative is set in 1962, in the town of Terry. A happy African family moves into a stereotypical white neighborhood, unaware of the supernatural presence. Their kids befriend the locals, and together they embark on a journey investigating the reality behind the town’s series of unsettling events and the disappearance of kids.
It’s said that a crucial historical event, the blowup of Black Patrons night club and racial attack on them, has triggered the catastrophic event of Pennywise’s 27-year cycle and more such deeds. To learn more, watch the upcoming film in theatres.
Cast and Crew
The film is a complex web of unnamed horror events that haunt the victims till it’s eaten by the malevolent creature Pennywise. The IT: Chapter I(2017) and IT: Chapter II(2019) show that the blood pact they made as kids calls them back into the town again as adults, exactly after 27 years. Also, they forgot the story until they entered the premises.
All uncommon and unrequited events are said to be cleared by this film. Let’s see all the new cast and recurring cast members below.
- Bill Skarsgard – Pennywise

Connection to Previous Films
Based on Stephen King’s novel, it’s important to see both the previous films, IT: Chapter I and IT: Chapter II. Although the upcoming film is a prequel story to them, which happened exactly 27 years before 2017. The Pennywise appearance happens in a cyclic period. Likewise, the trailer clearly shows a deep connection as many highlight scenes like the bathroom tub scene, the losers club, cycling through tunnels for the project, etc., are reappearing but this time with true insights into the recurring terror & history.
When is the Release
It is indeed one of the scariest film series that requires brave hearts, at least, to act in theaters. Its horror, film, and scenes are gory and disturbing. However, its hidden charm lies in the characters themselves, as their adventures and terror pull the audience to the end. The teaser has no exact date, but to release in the fall means August-September.
