With many directors focusing on burning patriotic uproar and legal films/series. The landscape of lawsuits and legality has become a mainstream focus for many upcoming dramas, one such attempt is Netflix’s new addition, Maamla Legal Hai. As series is based on real incidents with quirky and offbeat comedy. Let’s see if its narrative is yay or nay!

The Regional Touch on Law

The story centers around Patparganj District Court, with more than dime advocates like Naila Grrewal, Ravi Kishan, and Nidhi Bhist trying to bring justice to many infamous and serious cases, not easily, without throwing a few objections. Each of them has their jugadu situations that turn the courtroom into a hilarious ride of comedy and cringe. The series presents regional and underrated societal issues, which is good to see.

Over comedy and Ridicule

Ravi Kishan tried his best to contain the situation but found himself flat with irrelevancy and cringeworthy comedy. The writer’s creativity felt limited; they tried to address many of the regional social issues and provoke thought in the audience. But which was left unturned as fake lawyers’ baseless courtroom smirks and unnecessary characters feel out of place. Also, not all episodes work the magic, he is more like a jolly LLB film with more of a detailed depiction in the series.

Crafting Characters

Of course, one plus point of Maamla Legal Hai is its cast and crew. All the actors tried their best to give life to their characters and bring a noteworthy performance, which has worked in many situations, but the dramedy doesn’t sustain long. The trial scenes or cursing the judge at the people’s court, these scenes do actually create a stereotypical situation, which doesn’t really bring the best out of the actors.

Soundtrack

As most series try to set a good background music, so does Maamla Legal Hai. They put some pressing and comedy sounds based on the situation, but as the show goes serious, we feel like it’s lagging and inconsistent, much like an invisible part of the show.

Final Verdict

Maamla Legal Hai series unexpectedly felt low on charm and wit because the show failed its main point of balancing law and comedy. If you are bored and desperate for a laugh, then do try this show. It does have some interesting situations that you might not see in your surroundings, but cheesy and sexualised comedy doesn’t work its way to becoming a masterpiece of Series I would say it’s an okay-ish watch.
