Netflix Upcoming Movie “Bad Influence”; Here’s What to Expect

Two people falling in love is undeniable. But what happens when you fall in love with your bodyguard? The theme may sound familiar to the Indian Malayalam film Bodyguard, which itself was remade into other Indian languages. But this film offers a fresh and different perspective on the romance-action drama genre. Bad Influence (Mala Influencia) is a Spanish film, directed by Chloé Wallace, starring Alberto Olmo as Eros, Eléa Rochera as Reese, and Enrique Arce as Bruce in the lead roles. The film’s underlying themes include romance, power, courage, loyalty, and integrity. 

Bodyguard

The main plot revolves around Eros, an orphan boy, and Resse, a girl from a wealthy family. Their paths cross when Reese’s father, Bruce, hires Eros as her bodyguard because she is being stalked. What begins as a straightforward premise quickly delves into a complicated narrative as Eros and Resse develop a sizzling yet problematic chemistry that complicates their professional relationship.

Hidden Past

However, they both must confront their past and move ahead to sustain their relationship. The film portrays the thriller elements while they delve into uncovering these secrets, potentially jeopardising their lives. 

Big Canvas

The film was shot in the picturesque location of Valencia–Ciudad de la Luz, in Alicante, Spain. This adds a visual treat for the eyes. Moreover, the action stunts deserve special mention for handling the responsibility well. To enhance the film’s quality aesthetically and musically, Naiara Moreno sang Mala influencia, the film’s core theme. Her other notable albums include Veneno and a cover song of La Gata Bajo La Lluvia, which reached the top spot on music billboards.

Performance 

All the actors have rendered a top-notch performance. A few actors with limited screen time also make a remarkable impression on viewers. The film’s suspense, thriller, and action elements bring the audience to the edge of their seat. Meanwhile, the bond between father and daughter adds an emotional touch and redefines their rough relationship in the film. The background score provides a sublime effect that perfectly complements the scene.

Sidelined

The romance among the lead actors overshadows the stalker story. Moreover, as the film continues, the plot becomes predictable, leaving the audience less enthusiastic. 

However, the film was initially released on 24 January 2025, and its response has created a buzz among the youth. On May 9, 2025, Bad Influence is set to stream on Netflix. Do not miss the movie! It is worth watching.
