One after another, Bollywood films are being disliked and rejected by audiences. However, Bollywood has adopted an adamant approach and is incessantly pushing movies down the throats of audiences through aggressive PR and promotions.

Enter Sikandar—a star-studded film featuring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna—released on 30th March 2025, intended to make your Eid a blockbuster celebration. Unfortunately, the film misfired spectacularly, flopping so hard that it failed to recover even half its reported ₹300 crore budget in its first week.

Why Sikandar Failed to Conquer?

Unnecessarily Preachy—God Knows Why Salman Khan is obsessed with unnecessarily preaching to society by portraying himself as the Ideal Citizen who never backs off from helping the needy. A little gyan is fine, but this is a full-blown moral lecture. (If you want the same, but palatable—just rewatch Jai Ho.)

Overused CGI – Sikandar is the epitome of Overusing CGI to make the actor look younger and still failing. The Frames are so saturated, it gets hard on the eyes. In some frames, Salman’s face is so smoothened it looks like a Renaissance oil painting (but not in a good way).

Salman-Rashmika Pairing

This casting was baffling. (There’s an age gap of nearly 30 years between them.) Even Rashmika’s Father is younger than Salman. Their chemistry is so non-existent, if it were a discount code, you’d get 100% off. Watching them together feels more awkward than a first meeting in an arranged marriage setup. At least those moments have some charm.

Dialogue Delivery

Rashmika’s Hindi delivery needs another award. The dialogues feel so forced and robotic; it’s like she memorized them under duress. Salman’s endless preaching, on the other hand, becomes a broken record – Makes the film so boring, as in every other scene he’s sounding like he’s the only sane one.

Plot & Action

The Writers were out of their minds while writing this. The Story is all over the place; the dots are so forced to connect, yet they fail. Moreover, The Action scenes are super Unrealistic and vain; it seems like A kid put in everything he could think of in an Action sequel. The only thing that could’ve saved this Apocalyptic movie was Songs. But the songs in this movie are an earworm. No Good lyrics, Music. Only noise and Extravagant sets.

Conclusion

Sikandar is not the only movie that was a setback for Salman. Race 3, Kisi ka Bhai – Kisi ki Jaan, Radhey, and many more in the past year have already made it to the Flop-List. However, Sikandar is a step ahead- It has its own league. It’s unbearable to watch: Too Preachy & Noisy, too much CGI, Bad Editing, and a Storyline Good enough to grind your Sanity in the blender and drain it.

Salman seriously needs to start choosing scripts based on substance, not the assumption that “Bhai hone se sab chalega.” And Rashmika’s constant Attempts in Hindi and poor acting make this film just another pain in the eye.
