Director Christopher McQuarrie masterfully orchestrates a symphony of adrenaline, from gravity-defying stunts and high-octane chases to complex moral dilemmas. The movie takes a different route this time, for the final time, it starts with a very fast-paced beginning while simultaneously making the movie grow wilder with multiple stipulations, making you stay on the edge of your seat throughout the ride.

Each moment feels earned, and every decision leads logically to the next. The stunts are mind-blowing, as expected from the franchise, but they feel even more integrated into the narrative this time.

The Storyline

The IMF team’s desperate race to track down the Entity, a rogue artificial intelligence threatening global annihilation. While the eventual outcome may seem inevitable, it’s the thrilling journey, the elaborate set pieces, and the edge-of-your-seat stunts that make the ride unforgettable. It shows how AI is probably gonna be in the future if not controlled.

Is This The Best Thriller?

Compared to previous installments, it feels like a culmination of everything the franchise has built towards. It retains the intricate plotting and double-crosses we’ve come to expect, but there’s a heightened sense of urgency and a feeling that the stakes have never been higher.  The flashbacks of almost every MI movie made us recollect 3 decades of watching Mission Impossible which was a very satisfying feeling.

The directors have put in hard work to build a grand plot & execute it magnificently. The underwater scenes give a sort of old Bond movies feel & modern technological elements have also been incorporated quite well.

The Characters

Tom Cruise once again proves why Ethan Hunt is one of cinema’s most iconic action heroes. The supporting cast, especially Rebecca Ferguson, Hayley Atwell, and Ving Rhames, elevate the narrative with depth and nuance.

The Visuals

Locations and cinematography are breathtaking, from high-altitude mountains to dense cities, each shot composed with visual flair and purpose. The stunts in the film are outstanding, with Cruise performing many of them himself. It’s a high-octane, emotionally rich experience that blends spectacle with substance.

Should You Watch This?

This is the kind of action cinema that reminds you why you fell in love with the genre in the first place. Overall, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is a must-watch if you love action and stunts that are extraordinary, just be sure to watch the 7th film before watching this, as they are connected. At the beginning of the film, there was a montage of clips from past Mission: Impossible movies. While some might find the first half a bit slow, for those familiar with the story, it’s worth it. The second half is packed with action.

IMDb Rating – 7.8/10
