Well, the lead actor, Srikanth, alias Sri Ram Krishnanmachari, has been taken into custody by the Nungambakkam police of the Greater Chennai Jurisdiction under “Cocaine purchase and consumption” from an International Drug cartel. Strong Drug Evidence

On this Monday, June 23rd, the police have officially arrested the actor Srikanth at his residence for the acquisition of cocaine allegedly bought from a Ghanaian-based drug cartel. The police have captured the drug offenders days ahead, and this following arrest seems by that information. Apart from these allegations, at the press conference, the police mentioned, they have hard proof that Srikanth has been in frequent contact with the three international dealers and he procured cocaine from them evidently.

It’s a misfortune that such a long-known actor popular in South Indian films got into wrongdoings. In India, drug usage is strictly restricted; Even for pain relief medicines with considerable amounts of drugs, they should be obtained under proven professional care, and a respective medical prescription to be followed up.

The Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Unit (ANIU) under the Greater Chennai Police received intelligence reports of drug distribution in the Nungambakkam area. Further identified Ghanaian dealers joined with local drug handlers to possess and supply. Together with local police support, they have arrested several from this trafficking ring.

Arrest and Connections

The ANIU has obtained leads, and on June 17, they arrested Pradeep Kumar, Prado in Salem, and a Ghanaian citizen with 11 grams of cocaine possession. From their detailed investigation, confirmed supply to a former AIADMK party member, T.Prasad. He later sold this to the actor Srikanth last month at a local pub. They have known each other in film production, he introduced and socialized the actor to this cartel.

During the search of Srikanth’s residence, the police found small traces of Cocaine and immediately took him into custody. Next, he was detained for questioning and examined at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital for blood toxicology tests. They came out positive for substance usage, and police have imprisoned the actor to date.

Actor Srikanth has claimed sorrow for his family & uncertainty of usage. He mentioned, “I didn’t know that Cocaine usage is Illegal, my small, unknown mistake is having a heavy impact on my poor family”. As of now, the ANIU director has intensified the investigation and strongly condemned every clue underway. The actor is still in lockup, we have to see whether he can obtain any Parole or the case deepens.
