The Plot

Fast forward four years, Finney, the small kid & solo survivor of an extremely dangerous psycho attack, is now a 17-year-old teen. He is still struggling with the lingering trauma of the hostage situation and escape. Suddenly, his young sister, Gwen, starts receiving dream phone calls from a particular black telephone booth and has bad nightmares.

Just following the same elements of the prequel, but in darker shades. Her dreams are about three certain boys getting stalked at their winter camp at Alpine Lake. Without confronting any visions with Finney, they both visit the site, just as planned by Grabber. To our surprise, the psychotic clown is back for vengeance, but as a malevolent ghost from his grave. And his connection to Finney is hidden somewhere in his family’s past.

Also, the sequel is dependent on the strange connection between Grabber and the hero, while the film explores horror mixed with a new supernatural concept. For example, this dialogue “Out of all the people, Finney, you should know death is just a word for me”. He is back as a vengeful spirit to haunt the whole family.

More Terror and Scarier Visuals

Indeed, visuals and nerve-wrecking horror sequences cover a major part of the Black Phone 2 film. The franchise lives on the goated white devil mask, that’s potentially death to whoever sees. Once the clown targeted middle school kids, now he is on purpose, which connects the scary visuals and suffering of his sister, Gwen, to a family link. Maybe we can expect more insight into Grabber’s past story and obsession here.
