The Story –  The Society is gone, and has been for a long time. What remains are the convents of savages and beast-men that kill each other for supplies, namely water and gas. To do this, they take cars, trucks, hot rods, and whatever automobiles they can find and make them war machines. 

The Cast – The best action thrillers with fantastic performances from Tom Hardy as Max, Charlize Theron and Imperator Furiosa, and other fabulous perforIf you’re looking for something more, you won’t find much. The drawback could be that it’s all action. Some movies have such amances.

Die Hard (1988)

The Story  – A New York police officer, John McClane, flies to Los Angeles to attend his estranged wife’s office Christmas party in an attempt to repair their marriage. All hell breaks loose when criminal Hans Gruber and his crew of professional criminals take the Nakatomi Place hostage, as well as the 30 people. In it, except for one as McClane becomes the lone hero who can possibly save the night.

The Cast – Alan Rickman for his excellent turn as the cool, calculating terrorist with a carefully-crafted German accent and a fine line in natty suits.

John Wick (2014)

The Story – Keanu Reeves shines in the titular role, portraying a retired hitman seeking vengeance for the death of his beloved dog. The story of a former hitman whose wife died from a terminal illness, and then John Wick comes back to the criminal underworld to take revenge. 

The Cast – Keanu Reeves as John Wick has done a fantastic job of delivering a great performance. Willem Dafoe, Alfie Allen, Ian McShane, and Lance Reddick lead a good supporting cast.

The Dark Knight (2008)

The story – It involved unruly terrorism was a mind-bending experience, especially with a handful of interesting character arcs, and how it transcends both the crime and war genres due to its complex themes and clever script. “The Dark Knight” is still one of the most gripping, incredible, intriguing, and exciting superhero films ever made.

The Cast – Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, all did splendidly as well. Christian Bale, the Batman himself, gave one of his greatest performances yet.

Gladiator (2000)

The Story – The new Caesar, Roman general Maximus, is sold into slavery as a gladiator, where he rises to fame as a people’s champion and finds an opportunity to exact his revenge. He was able to show with all his brightness the greatness of the Roman Empire. 

The Cast – late Oliver Reed and Richard Harris. Russell Crowe, Djimon Hounsou, and Joaquin Phoenix played outstanding roles.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1992)

The Story – The T-800 protects John Connor from another Terminator and helps him stop Judgment Day.I t’s got a terrific plot that’s always engaging and you’ve got non-stop breathtaking action while putting you on the edge of your seat, begging for John’s life.

The Cast – Performance by Linda Hamilton gives another terrific Vibe, that is more depth than her performance in the first film, Robert Patrick is spine-chilling, and once again, Arnold Schwarzenegger is perfectly cast in by far his most iconic role.

The Story – Leonardo DiCaprio’s Cobb and his team can ‘extract’ ideas and secrets from a target by entering their dreams. A process called Inception. The big challenge though, is to insert a new idea. It adds all this to the gravity and physics defying nature of dreams.

The Cast – The supporting cast, including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ellen Page, and Tom Hardy, bring their characters to life .

The Matrix (1999)

The Story  – Film introduced us to the agents, specifically Smith (Hugo Weaving), who mutters, “your men are already dead”.  We flash upstairs to Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), who is eliminating the officers and evading the agents sent to apprehend her.  

The Cast – Keanu Reeves, Carrie Ann Moss, and Laurence Fishburne were the perfect choices for these roles and their performances are top notch.

Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)

The Story – A film delivers amazing set pieces, smart comedy, a believable love story, and a lead character with resourcefulness, adaptability, and wits within a truly engaging story, it’s a perfect adventure film. You’re transported into a world of thrilling adventure, exotic locations. 

The Cast – Harrison Ford’s portrayal of Indiana Jones is both charming and captivating, and his on-screen chemistry with Karen Allen’s character, Marion Ravenwood, gives the best performance.

The Raid (2011)

The Story – As characters are divided into the ‘good guys’ and the ‘bad guys’, the entire film plays out like a video game, and it requires no thought from its audience whatsoever. Basically, one mind-blowing and extraordinary fight sequence after another. It is bloody, brutal, and completely over the top.

The Cast – Iko Uwais, The Hero, acted very good in the movie and his martial arts were perfect.

Léon (1994)

The Story – The film centers around Leon, a professional hitman who is a loner, and Maathilda, his one-time neighbor, whose family gets slaughtered by the corrupt DEA agent Stansfield.

The Cast – The acting is top notch by Jean Reno & a young Natalie Portman. The villain, Gary Oldman, is exceptional as a villain who constantly listens to music like Beethoven.

The Bourne Ultimatum (2007)

The Story  – This starts exactly where The Bourne Supremacy ended. This time Jason is going after the people who made Treadstone. There’s a real intelligence to this in showing you how Jason uses his wits as well as his fists against his enemies. 

The Cast – Mind blowing action set pieces, spectacular fight scenes and brilliant performances from everyone, especially from Matt Damon.

Skyfall (2012)

The Story – An ex-secret agent seeks to exact revenge on M for abandoning him for dead in years gone by and Bond attempts to stop him. Bond decides to use M to lure the villain to his childhood home, only to discover they forgot to bring any weapons to defend themselves.

The Cast  – Naomi Harris as Moneypenny, Ben Whishaw as Q and Ralph Fiennes as Mallory played their characters perfectly.

Casino Royale (2006)

The Story – A MI6 operative promoted to 00 agent status by assassinating two targets. So to achieve a licence to kill, he has to kill a minimum of two targets. In this one, Bond pursues a bomb-maker, which leads him to a corrupt official, Alex Dimitrios, in the Bahamas.

The Cast – The movie is steady and sharply acted, with Mads Mikkelsen and Eva Green giving exceptional performances.

Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003)

The Story – The Bride, a former assassin driven by a thirst for revenge against her former allies. Her physicality and emotional range bring depth to the character, making her a compelling protagonist. It has graphic violence and excessive gore, which detracts from the overall viewing experience.

The Cast – Uma Thurman is a terrific actress and she was definitely the right choice to play the lead character. Lucy Liu, Michael Madsen, among others performed well.

Avengers: Endgame (2019)

The Story – The final clash was epic only in the number of characters that were involved; however fell short on equating an equivalent match-up with full development of the perpetrators. A post-war environment with deeply humane feelings of Loss, PTSD, behavioral sins, & Sacrifice, with a hearty serving of comedic relief on memorable characters, albeit with some overdone and quite disorienting with our loved heroes. 

The Cast – The superheroes are all brilliantly acted and well written, with Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johannson, and Chris Evans, in particular, turning in some of the most human and enduring best acting performances.

The Equalizer (2014)

The Story – A trained Denzel for martial arts nailed it to the smallest detail of self-defense, turning this talented actor into a killing machine who takes out the bad guys by teaching them an ugly lesson using his hand skills rather than shooting bullets. 

The Cast – Amanda Crew could’ve been a better fit for the role of Teri and even Christie Burson, who sometimes appears on Lifetime movies.

Mission Impossible - Fallout

The Story – The Iconic Mission Impossible fades the movie reels you in and grabs your attention through thrilling car chases,to motorcycle stunts on the streets of Paris, to exciting shootouts and iconic running sequences in London, to thrilling adrenaline sky high helicopter stunts and a stunning climax and fight scene. 

The Cast – Tom Cruise has been brilliant in the role of Ethan Hunt once again with an outstanding Performance.

Oldboy (2003)

The Story – The most Uncomfortable of emotions, without blinking an eye, because of the intriguing performances. It might not be for everyone, and some parts may be disgusting to viewers. 

The Cast – Great performance by Choi Min-sin and brilliant cinema with Josh Brolin. The lead actors made the ending shocking and few people can handle it.

Heat (1995)

The Story – It can hardly be an average cop & robber tale because the film not only focuses on the action, which was a fair amount in the film but also the lives of those affected by these men and many other lives. 

The Cast – De Niro did a beautiful job as well , portraying Neil McCauley with authentic aggression, strength, and resilience.

Speed (1994)

The Story –  As Keanu Reeves’ cop tries to save passengers on a bus that has been rigged to explode if the speed of the bus drops below 50mph, this film goes from one brilliant set piece to another, and is directed wonderfully well by Jan De Bont.

The Cast – Reeves and Hopper give good performances and although Bullock is pretty synonymous with this film.

The Story – The movie certainly shows how Spartans are made and how brave they are. But somehow, while portraying Xerxes I, they have overboarded it too much and are showing that ‘God-King’ thing too much. 

The Cast – Gerard Butler gives a wonderful performance as King Leonidas. Peter Mensah delivers a standout performance as the villain, fully immersing himself in the role with captivating skill.

Extraction (2020)

The Story – Chris Hemsworth’s star vehicle, produced by Avengers directors Joe and Anthony Russo, directed by a stuntman turned action maestro, is every bit the hard-hitting and violent film it promised to be, with its sensationally creative action sequences elevating the entire project way beyond its simple story.

The Cast – Performance of Chris Hemsworth was outstanding in action sequences, dialogue delivery. The boy(Rudhrash) was equally good on screen, but Randep Hooda as Saju was exceptional, his dedication towards the whole screenplay.

Taken (2008)

The Story – Liam Neeson stars as ex-CIA operative Bryan Mills, who decides to take his daughter on a vacation in France. Bryan teaches his daughter safety before she is inevitably kidnapped by Albanians.

The Cast – Liam Neeson carries the film effortlessly, giving a performance. The supporting cast does their job well, though some characters don’t get much depth as well.

Edge of Tomorrow (2014)

The Story – The Time loop is brilliantly executed, adding a layer of complexity and intrigue to the plot. It’s fascinating to see Cage’s character evolve and adapt with each repeated day, as he gains knowledge and skills that help him inch closer to defeating the alien invaders.

The Cast – Emily Blunt also shines as Sergeant Rita Vrataski, the fierce and determined soldier who becomes Cage’s ally and mentor.
