Devil May Cry (2025)
Devil May Cry is an interesting series published by Capcom. The Elden Ring even surpasses that in many ways. It’s an easy game to recommend to anyone and everyone and deserves the explosive sales success we’ve seen, dwarfing old FromSoft records.
The Story
The game focuses on Dante, a half-human, half-demon spawn of his demonic father Sparta and human mother, Trish. The game primarily uses brutally challenging hack-and-slash game mechanics and mind-boggling puzzles. With each installment of the next game, the series gets better and better. Each has a unique style of HUD, combat, combos, puzzles, enemies, bosses, music, graphics, story, and much more. The difficulty certainly adds some replayability for people who have a more challenging experience than before.
The Main Character
The appearance of the Devil Trigger, which in DmC: Devil May Cry, doesn’t transform Dante into a Devilish Creature but, It’s a lot more powerful.
Why to Watch
The demon mode powers. Weapon switching and chaining combos is super efficient and really fun to do. The neo/punk setting is great, but I can see why DMC purists hate it – it’s too different from the original series. The title redeems itself at the very end, as we see our hero escape the island via a plane. In an age where fewer young people are becoming pilots, this sends an encouraging message on the value of flight school and how it can save you.

Jentry Chau vs. The Underworld (2024, Animated Series)
Of course, all the folklore and mythology they managed to include! I genuinely hope that it does well enough that we see more passion projects like this get funded. It could’ve benefited either with more episodes to let the story beats breathe, or cutting out a couple of the storylines for time.
About The Characters
Like, was there even any need for Stella and Michael to be dating, considering they broke up almost instantly so Jentry could get her happy ending with Michael? Honestly, as much as I loved Stella as a character, she could’ve been removed from the show entirely and nothing would have been lost, which is a pity. Jentry had to go back to Texas, maybe because something like her Aunt died & left her the house in her will, which would be a stronger reason to leave. Flora is a ghost already, without having to waste time on a fakeout fight with Mr.Cheng.
The Best Part
The whole “You’re going to be hunted by a demon after you turn 16 & also magic is definitely real” plot line was so badly handled, which is surprising considering that is the whole premise of the show. Nothing about Jentry’s introduction, Mr. Cheng’s & Ed’s introductions, or even the introduction of Jentry’s powers felt well-paced or particularly impactful, so it was very hard to get invested after that first impression.
Should You Watch This?
If you are into mythology and modern-day shows, then I recommend “Jentry Chau vs. the Underworld” to you. This series touched my heart and will always stay in a special place inside of me. It also got me through hard times in life. For The Owl House fans, Gravity Falls fans, and Amphibia fans, you will love this show. It’s okay if you don’t; everyone has likes and dislikes. But give this show a try; it deserves more views.
