Tom Cruise & Mission: Impossible are a Match made in Heaven. This blockbuster series of films made him the “Man of Steel.” His nature of performing dangerous stunts without any stunt doubles, even at the age of 50ish, is what he is. His commitment, dedication, and love for these movies make every one of them top-tier gold.
This list is not a comparison of their value but just a ranking of the best to best in order.
Mission: Impossible—Fallout

Fallout is a masterpiece in terms of everything. From cinematography to stunt visuals like hanging from helicopters. It’s just badass action drama. The director, Christopher McQuarrie, blends the right amount of emotion and adventure into a strong narrative. Especially the bathroom fight scene is still one of the best shots ever. Close-quarters fight between Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and our Superman, Henry Cavill, is brutal.
Ratings : IMDb: 7.7/10, Rotten Tomatoes: 97%
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning

Being in an environment with better technology, Ethan Hunt has everything just under his fingertips. But not under the watch of AI “The Entity.” He must track down this new weapon before it falls into the wrong hands & wipes out the globe. One particular scene where he drives to the end of the cliff, jumps, and parachutes down the mountain, all without any safety gear. The crew said he practiced for 6 months; they took six real takes for it. Insane right?
Ratings : IMDb: 7.7/10, Rotten Tomatoes: 96%
Mission: Impossible- Ghost Protocol

This film stands out with its rebellion story. With a potential high risk of a leak of private agents’ details and code names, the government disavows everyone in the IMF and initiates “Ghost Protocol.” Now with zero support, Ethan Hunt must solve the Kremlin terrorist attack and stop the Russian Nuclear missile that’s launching from Mumbai, India. In this, the scene of climbing Burj Khalifa freehand using suction gloves is a real highlight.
Ratings: IMDb: 7.4/10, Rotten Tomatoes: 94%
Mission: Impossible- Rogue Nation

With heavy collateral damage in missions, the US government disavows the IMF agents. However, the real reason is the manipulation of a shadowy organization, “Syndicate”. To stop their operations, Ethan Hunt turns into a rogue agent against the CIA. He joins with his team and performs an undercover mission to find the real culprit behind the deaths. With both sides pressuring him, it’s only another impossible mission that only he cracks.
Ratings : IMDb: 7.4/10, Rotten Tomatoes: 94%
Mission: Impossible

Being the most charming, it’s Ethan Hunt’s first ever covert mission. However, it takes a dark turn when all his team members are killed in cold blood, and he is set up for those murders. He escapes the scene & initiates his investigation to find the real culprit. With the help of Luther Stickell (MC in most of the films) and Franz Kreiger, he sneaks into the CIA building and retrieves a confidential file. On the way, he uncovers his true enemies.
Ratings: IMDb: 7.1/10, Rotten Tomatoes: 65%
Conclusion:
All his years of hard work are going into one last run as Ethan Hunt, aka Tom Cruise, is preparing for his Mission: Impossible film. It’s sad, but it’s the end of this film series. Also, despite this much effort into filming them, he’s never been awarded an Oscar. Let’s hope he’s the next Best Actor award winner with his run to MI: Final Reckoning.
