STRAW

Tyler Perry’s “Straw” is a decent psychological crime drama. Janiyah is a struggling black single mother with a sick child and is stuck in poverty. Actually, she is framed in a false misconception and gets sacked from her job, followed by a potential jail sentence. In desperation and hopelessness, she pulls out the gun and takes up the situation, not of villainism but of her vulnerabilities and pain. Thus, a bank ruckus and vigilante situation arise, she slowly reveals the heavy discrimination & how the system fails to protect her.

Now You See Me

With Now You See Me part III coming, all the fans turned to rewatch the decade-old prequel, necessary to reignite the whole theme and character arcs. “The Eye”, a secret Magical Society, hires four magicians as the horsemen and trains them for heists. They catch the tag as a bank robbery arises in plain sight in Las Vegas, they get tagged by FBI investigations and Interpol detectives, but in actuality, the real emotion is vengeance, not heist. So watch both parts while waiting for the sequel.

IMDb: 7.2/10                     Rotten Tomatoes: 51%             My Rating: 4.2/5

Bee Movie

This humor-yet-message-oriented film is something you will enjoy on a boring afternoon. Bary is a young bee just graduated from college with high hopes, only to realize that his life is a routine hive loop of making honey. Soon discovers that humans are outrageously stealing their produce, throws a lawsuit against injustice. He wins & bee stop pollination that disrupts the entire earth’s balance. Sounds interesting, right? Do watch today!

IMDb: 6.1/10                     Rotten Tomatoes: 49%             My Rating: 4/5

M3GAN

Gemma is an intelligent roboticist working on a potential M3GAN project, which is a child’s companion and parents’ ally. After her brother’s demise, she takes responsibility for her orphaned niece. To remove her boredom and loneliness, she pairs Cady with the M3GAN prototype, still unfinished. At the start, everything was sunshine and cereal, but soon it turned into an obsession with dark play and murder. Even though this plotline is common, the audience appreciates the direction & camera work, so do give it a try.

IMDb: 6.3/10                     Rotten Tomatoes: 93%            Newsslash Rating: 3.9/5

Nonnas

Based on a real story, Vince Vaughn’s Nonnas is a heartfelt Italian meal & a round trip of memories from simple things, food with a mother’s embrace. When Joe loses his dear mom and Nonna, he starts recreating their recipes to fill the void. However, he decides to open a restaurant in tribute to their delicious meals that only true Nonnas can make. Through thick and thin, they stick together, making it one of the sweetest films to enjoy.
