These films are highly underrated. It’s a very well-made film without the trappings of a star-driven film. There are no holes in the script, and the movie flows well, we generally did not get these types of films. This can be one of the best movies ever and has to be a big spot in your collection. Make sure you don’t get tied up in the loop. Twisted Metal really intertwines the storyline.
From mess to further mess is the direction of the plot and is prepped most enjoyably. As enjoyable as movies get, definitely one to check out. It can be your fantastic black comedy, which really shows the dark side of white-colored people.
Thelma (Action, Comedy)

The Storyline: Thelma’s best years are behind her, but when she’s scammed into giving up all of her money, she decides to take it back by force. Much to the worry of her grandson and his family, Thelma takes to the streets in an attempt to find the conman who stole from her, dragging an old friend along with her. As she gets closer to her target, she has to contend with her growing mortality, which seems to get worse along her journey.
The Characters – Thelma (June Squibb), a grandmother beloved by her grandson Daniel (Fred Hechinger) , daughter Gail (Parker Posey), son-in-law Alan (Clark Gregg), and Richard Roundtree in his final role. Great performances and chemistry in their roles.
The Best Part – This movie highlights the fact that society tends to turn a blind eye or underestimates the elderly, which is very sad. ‘Thelma’ has everything—fun, humour, heart, and a moving message.
It’s a lot less of an old lady gets revenge story; it was much more grounded and more heartfelt then I thought from the trailer we saw led us to believe. Dealing with the imperfect life of families, friends, and caretakers, while dealing with the realities of aging in some bitter moments that felt real.
IMDb Rating – 7/10
Dìdi (Comedy, Drama)

The Storyline – The psychological challenges of an Asian male, where we look so far from the typical male beauty standard, and the resulting shame and low self-esteem were all perfectly painted in the movie. The plain presentation of the story allowed room for storms raging within viewers, pretty adequate and brilliant. Besides, it it (Didi) seems unlikely that an Asian single mom would probably won’t insist on being an unsuccessful artist, have time to read, and send Vivian to university.
The Characters – A friend, Fahad acted well . Joan Chen was good as the mom, and the grandmother also made an impact. We feel special relationships with each and every character.
The Best Part – It had friendship, family, teenage love, and bad decisions. It captures the teenage life perfectly to the point that most would relate to it on a deep level. The movie is about a boy who embarks on an adventure to fit in and find himself. He experiences love, trouble, altercations, abandonment, life lessons, and a mother’s love. It is hilarious, realistic, family-oriented, and from an Asian perspective.
IMDb Rating – 7.3/10
Ghostlight (Comedy, Drama)

The Storyline – This movie is about a construction worker who stumbles upon an amateur theater group and reluctantly joins, and about how families deal with tragedy. The movie also stars his real-life wife and daughter as his wife and daughter. A very hurting family is tearing itself apart over the death of their son; a ray of light cracks through the darkness via an amateur theater group. It’s about healing grief, sharing your pain, and finding a way out of deep sadness.
The Characters – The performances are stellar by Dan Mueller, a construction worker grieving the loss of his son, and his wife Sharon and teenage daughter, Daisy, who are also struggling with the grief.
The Best Part – If you’re looking for an intimate movie for your weekend, away from the industrial hustle of cinema, one that gently brings smiles to your lips and tears from your eyes, watch this movie. Perhaps that’s why the film is called Ghostlight, in harmony with Chaplin’s Limelight and reminiscent of the same sentiment he seeks in his films.

Lisa Frankenstein (Horror, Romance)

The Storyline – It is about a girl in 1989, Lisa (Kathryn Newton) is a lonely high school girl with an obsession with the macabre. She dotes over the grave of a Victorian-esque bachelor in the abandoned cemetery. Lightning strikes, and the corpse (Cole Sprouse) is reanimated. Thus begins the blossoming love between a girl and a zombie.
The Characters – Taffy (Liza Soberano) is Lisa’s stepsister, who is a popular cheerleader at school. Lisa’s stepmom, Janet (Carla Gugino) played well and the main character, Lisa Frankenstein did too.
The Best Part – We connected with Liza and Frankenstein, not the scary parts, but because of how their love changed them. Seeing how they made each other happier and better people was touching. It shows that love can truly transform us for the better. It’s a love story only in the sense that someone might love the idea of turning their high school grievances into a horror show. In trying to meld genres, themes, and body parts, the film ends up as a discombobulated mess that’s as confusing as it is morbid.
IMDb Rating – 6.1/10
Good One (Drama)

The Storyline – The story is a silent toggle between a father’s idea and a child’s support. Her father loves hiking and is even thinking about recruiting people to hike in China. This is something his friend feels is irresponsible. The story is more about a daughter and her father’s bond. Many hate the fact that it doesn’t come with the intense drama they’re used to, which is understandable.
The Characters – Sam is so very capable, prepared, savvy, and tuned into the layers of emotional communication. Lily Collias does an absolutely amazing job of holding this character.
The Best Part—Beautiful moments, we see the girl battling with her longing for modern-day friendship over the bonding in the forest. Towards the end, she contemplated leaving it all behind, but eventually came to terms with the new life.
