In Telugu films, there’s this notion, “Certain actors work well with certain Directors”, we have such hit combinations as Trivikram to Power Star, Sukumar to Stylish Star Allu Arjun, Prabhas, NTR, to Rajamouli, and Boyapati Srinu to Nandamuri Balakrishna. Yes! The duo is back for the sensational fourth film, i.e., Akhanda 2 Thaandavam. Let’s see all the details.
Prequel Plotline
Akhanda is the story of twin brothers who get separated during birth, one grows up in a family, while one’s fate is written for “Sanyasa Vairaygyam” to become a powerful Sage devoted to Lord Shiva. As time folds, the second twin becomes elderly and an epitome of truth that stands for poor families, he falls in love with their regional IAS Saranya, aka Pragya Jaiswal, and bears a young daughter. But soon their family falls into a pit when goon Vadarajulu messes with power and disrupts their family for his selfish revenge. Then Akhanda arrives and protects them from evil. Thus returns to the Himalayas.
The teaser also begins with a powerful scene, in which the actor fights off armed vigilantes with a single hand and a trishul, referring to the messenger of Lord Shiva’s Rudra Roop or Anger. Even though the plot and characters are a big mystery, we can understand that Akhanda is returning to stand with people as a semi-god.
Vibe: Potential Blockbuster Sequel
The teaser was released on June 10, coinciding with the superstar’s birthday. This reunion has been active since 2012 and continues. Boyapati is the “IT” director for this actor. Their films “Simha”, “Legend”, & “Akhanda” remained commendable superhits in both their careers. Because the director’s “extra” gestures, especially in scenes, don’t work for all heroes, but are highly suitable to Balakrishna’s hype and grandeur.
He is returning in a sequel as Akhanda Rudra Sikandar Ghora, who is shown heavily bearded like the Narasimha swamy reference from Lion mane of Sree Vishnu Dasavataram, that slashes the neck, throws off the villains to the ground with over-the-top gestures and wanders off the supernatural, like the black aura that is prying in innocence.

Cast and Crew
The prequel cast mostly aren’t returning, except Balakrishna. The heroine Pragya Jaiswal is also returning for the sequel. Likewise, a new member, Samyukta Menon, is headed to play a crucial role, while most of her character details and plot are a mystery. All the remaining characters do seem to be hidden. However, the villain is expected to be played by Adi Pinnisetty, who has already worked with this director in other films. Now, we can only wait and see whether they can work out the performances and content like they did in the first film or fall flat with casting or story mistakes. For more crew details, we have to wait for the upcoming trailer.
