BOOM, BELGIUM— Just days before its first weekend, Tomorrowland faced a serious dilemma when a major fire consumed its iconic main stage on Wednesday, July 16. Despite this, organizers quickly let the world know that the show will go on.

No one was injured among the crew who were on site. While the main stage is now considered irreparable, Tomorrowland’s organizers indicated that DreamVille will open on Thursday as scheduled, and they convinced the 400,000 anticipated attendees that “alternative plans” are being developed.

Due to the event not being cancelled, there has been no official report surrounding mass refunds or rescheduled festival dates. The focus of the organizers continues to be providing an alternative festival experience. All ticket holders and future patrons are encouraged to stay tuned to the official Tomorrowland channels for any updates surrounding the new plans, as notification of Tomorrowland’s cancellation has been wrongly streamed online.

An Overview of a Global Event

Launched in 2005 with a one-day event and 9,000 guests, Tomorrowland was created by two brothers, Manu and Michiel Beers, and has grown tremendously in 20 years. Held in a provincial recreation area called De Schorre in Boom, Tomorrowland is now a two-week-long festival, with various stages, flair, and extravagance themed and told through storytelling. This year’s theme is “Orbyz,” taking guests on a voyage into a universe of magic and ice. Tomorrowland is a cultural festival that invites anyone from the whole world to share the single language of electronic music with people from over 200 countries.

Making the Journey to the Magic: Costs and Accommodation

Going to Tomorrowland involves ticket tier selections, and each tier has a different price. The most popular option is the Full Madness Pass, which gives general access for one entire weekend. The price for the pass was €225 (around $245) for pre-sale and €281 (around $306) during the worldwide sale.

The Full Madness Comfort Pass, which includes all general access and access to the VIP zones at the Mainstage and four additional stages, is for attendees who want more than the basic access. In pre-sale, this ticket was available for €380 (around $414) and was €496 (around $541) during the worldwide sale.

Conclusion

Tomorrowland 2025 will move ahead, despite the historic fire that took down its iconic main stage. This incredibly difficult situation is now at the centre of this year’s festival, challenging its organizers and the will of its global family, who are ready for a truly historic version of the iconic festival.
