The series is often intensely uncomfortable, sometimes white-knuckle awkward in different scenarios. Generally, directors, producers and OTT platforms don’t prefer ‘limited series’, as it finishes early and the chance of making more money and fame is lost somewhere. A wild emotional rollercoaster that is not the easiest watch, but still draws you in at every turn.

Amazing lead actors – Richard Gadd has brought out the best show, Nava Mau, in a supporting role. Jessica Gunning, with her captivating expressions. 

The Best Part

The raw portrayal of Donny grappling with the aftermath of sexual assault, coupled with the haunting presence of Martha, creates an unforgettable viewing experience. Every scene is meticulously crafted to delve deep into the complexities of trauma, obsession, and the fragile nature of the human psyche.

Anna Paquin and Paul Gross add depth to the narrative, creating a compelling ensemble that enhances the overall experience.

The Best Part

The pace and cinematography are like Little House on the Prairie wrapped around a heart of darkness, violence, and abuse. In real life, with her background and history, we would not expect delicate Grace to be so refined, eloquent, confident and elegant.

3. Fred & Rose West: A British Horror Story [2025] (Crime)

Focuses on Fred West’s background, his initial confessions, and the beginning of the investigation, the legal proceedings of  Fred’s suicide before trial, and Rose’s subsequent life sentence.

The Characters

Fred West, Rose West, and Caroline Owens played their best roles. And a part of a notorious UK serial killer couple.

The Best Part

The documentary utilises over 50 hours of police interview tapes, some of which had not been publicly released before, and the recordings provide a chilling insight into the West’s manipulative nature. Fred’s initial claims of sole responsibility are juxtaposed with evidence of Rose’s active participation in murder.

4. Band Of Brothers [2001] (Drama)

It starts when Easy Company found the Concentration Camp, and it shows a realistic depiction of how different people adapt to the trauma of war. The dynamic talent and fascinating true stories behind the epic World War II drama Band of Brothers and with Tom Hanks leading the charge.

The Characters

The actors did a fantastic performance, especially Mr. Schwimmer, Private Ryan and Mr. Lewis. 

The Best Part

The cinematography and sound design are cinematic-quality, immersing the viewer in both the chaos of battle and the quiet moments of brotherhood. What truly sets Band of Brothers apart is its emotional depth. Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, as well as every person involved in the amazing production.

5. Beef [2023] (Drama)

We follow two people from completely different walks of life who end up colliding after a rage-filled encounter in a parking lot turns into a car chase and elevates to much more severe things as each individual looks to get revenge on the other, and we watch as they go to darker and darker places trying to make their points and making themselves look worse in the process. 

The Characters

Ali Wong deserves an award for her outstanding performance, and Steve Yeun played well.

The Best Part

The series is so unique in that it addresses a likely common life irritation, but then takes it to such unforeseen and unimaginable lengths! It makes you wonder about anger, how it can get out of control, the many places it comes from and builds from, and how we feed it.
